Crist campaign’s Palm Beach County chairwoman resigns
Thursday, April 29th, 2010 by George BennettKigel is also the county GOP’s vice-chairwoman. She was a key early Crist supporter in 2006 when most of the local Republican establishment backed Tom Gallagher in the Republican primary for governor.
Kigel’s statement:
“Today, I am resigning my position with the Charlie Crist for U.S. Senate campaign. I am disappointed that Governor Crist has decided to step away from the Republican Party at this critical time to run as a “No Party Affiliation” candidate. As a lifelong Republican, I stand with our Party to effect the necessary changes and direction so badly needed for our Country to provide all Americans with an opportunity for personal prosperity and a smaller, non-intrusive government. My support will be with our Republican nominee for Florida’s U.S. Senate race.”
