Feuer appears to win circuit judgeship without opposition as filing closes; Murphy draws 6 GOP foes

by George Bennett | May 2nd, 2014

Attorney Samantha Schosberg Feuer appeared to win a Palm Beach County circuit judgeship without opposition when the state’s qualifying deadline for judicial and congressional candidates passed at noon today.

Feuer is the only candidate listed on the Division of Elections website as qualifying for the open Group 32 seat, but a division spokeswoman said it could be a few hours before the list is official because of late filers.

The Group 32 seat became open this week when Judge Sandra McSorley withdrew her bid for re-election. The only other open circuit judgeship, the Group 30 seat, drew at least three candidates: Maxine Cheesman, Jaimie Goodman and Peggy Rowe-Linn.

Most circuit judges who seek re-election win new terms without opposition. But Judge Diana Lewis drew a challenge from attorney Jessica Ticktin.

At least six Republicans have qualified for the Palm Beach-Treasure Coast congressional District 18 seat of freshman Democrat Patrick Murphy. At least three Republicans qualified for the Palm Beach-Broward seat of freshman Democratic Rep. Lois Frankel.

  1. PBC Corruption Says:

Hope Ticktin WINS! Lewis should be removed – she is corrupt and evil….

  2. OBIWAN Says:

    @PBC Corruption

As your president, I want to be clear and transparent! There is not a smidgen of corruption in my administration! I have not lied to the people! I do have an economic plan! I am not a socialist! Benghazi is all about a video! The IRS did not target conservative groups! I know nothing about Fast and Furious! Al Qaeda is on the run! The economy is much better today!

Thank you and god bless the Black Panther Party!

  3. Smart thinker Says:

    Rowe-Linn is very well qualified.

  4. Member of the Bar Says:

    Smart thinker you are correct.

I think the same folks backing Samantha Feuer will be supportive of Peggy Rowe-Linn. They are both good candidates for the Bench.

  5. Elaine Hogarty Says:

I think Peggy Rowe-Linn would make an outstanding Judge for so many different reasons least of all being her dedication to fairness and objectivity to any and all situations she encounters in life. The fact that she is “brilliant” contributes to her competence in all manner of situations legal and otherwise.
Peggy made all sorts of sacrifices to reach each goal she set for herself not only in her own education, but that of her family and children.
Selflessly she has served our community and continues to serve the needs of all abused children, families in crisis and many heartfelt deeds unnoticed that she has kept in the silence of her heart.
We “need” Peggy. She is the kind of woman any court would benefit from having on the bench as a Judge. She is the voice of reason with a conscience that is badly needed in todays world.
Peggy has the ability to discern right from wrong, is ethical with moral values and principles.
When you vote for Peggy you will get all that is HONEST and GOOD!….. CHANGE FOR THE BETTER AND VOTE FOR PEGGY!

  6. Marilyn Tiedemann Says:

Peggy Rowe-Linn is a bully who does not protect victims of domestic violence. She defended my ex-husband when he strangled and beat me in front of my 11-year old, 9-year old, and 6-year old daughters. Years later, he amazingly remembered the crime, after denying it, and apologized. Not Rowe-Linn! She just got paid a lot. This qualifies her to be a slick lawyer but never a judge! My daughters and I suffered 11 additional years of domestic violence, thanks to Rowe-Linn helping a criminal lie about his “problem.”

  7. Peggy Rowe-Linn Says:

    Dear Ms. Tiedemann,

You obviously have me confused with someone else. Mr. Walsh represented John Tiedemann in the divorce, not me. No one represented John in the domestic violence proceeding. Those records are available for confirmation on the online docket of the Palm Beach County Clerk’s Office. I would appreciate it if you would not slander or libel me.

  8. Smart thinker Says:

    Rowe-Linn has my support.

Experience & Competence are a fine qualities which she possesses.

  9. Don't F with the D's Says:

Vote for Ticktin. Judge Lewis is in no way qualified to be a Judge. This has not one ounce of fairness in her. She doesn’t listen, she doesn’t care what is right or wrong. She allows attorneys to lie in her court as long as they are for the banks. Lewis berates every defense attorney that enters her court to make herself feel important. She is far more evil than I ever realized which is why I will spend my last dollar making sure she doesn’t get re-elected. I suggest that you all do the same. Get ready Ms. Lewis. I suspect you will be in the same quadrant of hell as Leona Helmsley.

  10. Don't F with the D's Says:

*”This” in sentence two should be followed by Judge.
