Gov. Rick Scott joins Pence, Christie on two-day, four-city Florida money tourby George Bennett | January 17th, 2014
Gov. Rick Scott will attend fundraisers in Naples today and Orlando, Palm Beach and Fort Lauderdale on Saturday.
He’ll be joined by Indiana Gov. Mike Pence in Naples today to raise money for the Republican Governors Association.
On Saturday, Scott and New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, the RGA chairman, will hit three fundraisers.
An Orlando event with Scott and Christie will raise money for Let’s Get To Work, the committee backing Scott’s 2014 re-election bid. The Sunshine State and Garden State execs will then raise money in Palm Beach for the RGA and the Republican Party of Florida. Scott and Christie will also attend a Fort Lauderdale event to raise money for RPOF.
Christie will hang around in Palm Beach County on Sunday, attending an “RGA event” in Palm Beach and then “private events.” The private events will include a powwow with more than 100 donors from around the U.S. to talk about a potential 2016 Christie presidential bid. The donor confab, described as a meet-and-greet rather than a fundraiser, is being organized by Home Depot co-founder and part-time Palm Beach County resident Kenneth Langone.
