Frankel hosts ‘telephone town hall’ Wednesday; constituents can assure spot through 5 p.m. todayby George Bennett | August 27th, 2013
U.S. Rep. Lois Frankel, D-West Palm Beach, will conduct a “telephone town hall” with constituents in her Palm Beach-Broward District 22 on Wednesday night from 7:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
People who live in District 22 can sign up for the teleconference by clicking here and registering before 5 p.m. today.
Shortly before the teleconference begins on Wednesday, automated calls will be placed to about 50,000 constituents inviting them to participate. A similar teleconference in April drew about 6,600 participants.
Before the teleconference, Frankel and Reps. Ted Deutch, D-Boca Raton, and Alcee Hastings, D-Miramar, will participate in a town hall meeting sponsored by immigration reform advocates at the Lake Worth campus of Palm Beach State College. That event begins at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Duncan Theatre on campus.
After the immigration event, Deutch will hold an in-person town hall with constituents at 7 p.m. Wednesday at John I. Leonard High School.
