Sen. Bill Nelson ‘cannot envision’ a 2014 run for governor
by George Bennett | March 13th, 2013WASHINGTON — Have you heard the one about Democratic Sen. Bill Nelson running for governor in 2014?
It’s not true, Nelson’s office says after fielding some questions about the rumor in the last couple weeks.
“Right now Sen. Nelson cannot envision a circumstance under which he would run for governor. But he remains very concerned about the state’s future,” Nelson communications director Dan McLaughlin said.
Nelson was just re-elected to a third Senate term in November.
Democrats are salivating at the prospect of defeating popularity-challenged Republican Gov. Rick Scott next year. State Sen. Nan Rich, D-Weston, has opened a campaign and Republican-turned-independent-turned-Democratic former Gov. Charlie Crist is looking. Former Florida Chief Financial Officer Alex Sink and former Miami Mayor Manny Diaz are also potential Democratic candidates.

Really wish Senator Nelson would run. He is the kind of centrist we need.

Jill,
If you think billy boy is a “centrist” than you must be drinking gallons of koolaide! I was at a lady gaga concert once and after consuming 6 or 7 bowls of organic tofu frijoles negros, well needless to say, I had to use the little boys room. In there, I met a nice mediterranean man who said he wanted to “get centrist” with me! Well, he persued, I withdrew then I persued and he withdrew and when the timing was just right he gave me a “Greek uppercut”
After the initial audible “pop” I realized when I went into the boys room in the first place.
Good luck in all your future endeavours!

When Bill Nelson goes, Debbie Wasserman Schultz will step in to run for his seat. That is unless, Nancy Pelosi, leaves.
Debbie is her own worst enemy. A gift to republicans.
