Boca police set up protest areas outside of Lynn campus

by Andrew Abramson | October 22nd, 2012

While only credentialed press members, Lynn students and debate ticket-holders will be allowed on the Lynn University campus today, the Boca Raton Police Department is recommending two areas for anyone who wants to protest or demonstrate.

The police are setting up plastic dividers on the southeast corner of Military Trail and Potomac Road and on the northeast corner of Yamato Road and Potomac Road so potential protesters do not spill into traffic.

The protest areas for the debate are described incorrectly. There is no junction of Yamato and Potomac, those roads run parallel to each other. I work close by and saw the plastic barricades on the SE corner of Military and Yamato, and I believe that the other ones are at Military and Potomac, but I’m not sure which corner.

  2. NO to ALL AMENDMENTS! Says:

    WHAT is each candidates plan?

WHERE are they going to cut?

    HOW will they be different?

VOTE NO to all FL Amendments!

The cops and firefighters now want you to pay their homestead taxes! They want to SHIFT the cost to other taxpayers so they can get a break.

Another amendment seeks to have Snowbirds not pay taxes! Guess which group gets to pick up the cost….YEP, YOU DO!

    NO to ALL amendments.

Can you pick up the lost of taxes…that’s what these groups want YOU TO DO. Pay their HOUSING TAX!

    JUST VOTE NO!

Tired of paying for fire fighters SHOES, their dry cleaning…yep, that’s in their contract…the public picks up the tab for DRY CLEANING of their uniforms! and the cost of their SHOES, let alone being PAID to grocery shop on the taxpayers’ dime, and working a schedule that gives them days and days off.

    NO TO ALL AMENDMENTS

these groups want US to pick up the cost of the taxes on THEIR HOMES!

    NO!

  3. DDW Says:

Can they protest where the protest zones are going to be? What if people want to protest in the street and make all the working middle class suffer while they have the day off?

  4. david Says:
