Jack Nicklaus campaigns in Ohio for Romney, who calls him ‘greatest athlete of the 20th century’
by George Bennett | September 26th, 2012North Palm Beach resident and golf legend Jack Nicklaus is campaigning in his native Ohio today with Mitt Romney.
“This campaign is not what is best for me, it is what is best for my children and my grandchildren,” Nicklaus said, according to The Washington Times.
Romney called Nicklaus “the greatest athlete of the 20th century” after The Golden Bear’s introduction.
Sports Illustrated named Nicklaus the best individual male athlete of the 20th century in 1999.
ESPN ranked Nicklaus the ninth greatest athlete of the 20th Century — behind Michael Jordan, Babe Ruth, Muhammad Ali, Jim Brown, Wayne Gretzky, Jesse Owens, Jim Thorpe and Willie Mays.

Jack, you surely are smart enough to see Mitt as the elitist crook he is. You think by balancing the budget the future will be rosy for your kids.
Clue: You have plenty to hide your kids behind concrete bunkers in your gated community. That won’t solve the quality of life issue. They won’t be able to walk the streets after another 4 years of the Republicans looting the country as they have in the past.
You’d be better off electing a Democratic Congress along with Obama. He won’t be trying to compromise with The Republicans this time around.
And he will know enough not to try to open the windows on Air Force One.

Jack Nicklaus is a hero and a patriot who is trying to save the United States from Obama’s disastrous second term. If Obama wins is the end of the United States.

Jack was one of the greatest golfers that ever lived but he’s far from being the greatest athelete of the 20th century. Just goes to show, even more than the other things Robme has said and done, how totally out of touch this clown is.

Nothing against Jack Nicklaus, but what has he done that qualifies him as a hero? Win golf tournaments? In my book, the heroes are are the military, police, firefighters, teachers, and all those looking to advance our society and doing on the salary of the 47% that Romney dismisses as not worthy of his concern. Nicklaus may be a decent man, but his life’s work has been about himself, and that is probably why he supports Romney.

Jack Nicklaus has a children’s hospital and before you make stupid comments @nemo why don’t you do some research? Jack is smart too and he is correct to endorse the candidate who will not turn this country into another Greece.

Up yours, Jack! You senile old goat! Remember when I was talking to you next to your crappy little house up there in Lost Tree? You idiot!
You’ll be dead within 2 years…..don’t leave it on us to pay!
September 26th, 2012 at 5:07 pm
Hey Jack, say hello to Andy Williams for me soon!
September 26th, 2012 at 5:25 pm
VERY DISAPPOINTING!!! I always regarded Jack as a real winner.
September 26th, 2012 at 5:46 pm
Ironicly, Jack is right. Romney’s plan would greatly benefit Nicklaus’ kids and grandkids, as their taxes would be cut. The kids and grandkids of the rest of the 99% of the population would suffer as education, health care, infrastructure and other vital services are gutted.
Nicklaus is one of the greatest athletes of our time, but he is dead wrong on this issue.

He’s probably talking about the chair that Eastwood was yelling at. Senile old goats trying to protect their millions. Athlete my a$$.
September 26th, 2012 at 6:24 pm
Of course Jack loves Romney, he is super rich and will benefit from Romney. Romney would harm more kids than Jack’s hospital could ever help.
September 26th, 2012 at 6:27 pm
Is Jack paying for that hospital out of his pocket? No! I do my research, nimwit.
A celebrity attaching their name to a charitable organization does not make them a hero.

To claim a golfer is the greatest athlete of any time period could only come from the mind of a Country Club elitist.

You need to do your research. Here’s a little fact that might shock you and the Obama supporters. Obama’s tax policy proposals and most parts of his economic policy proposals are very similar to the GOP’s god’s Ronald Reagan. The US was in no danger of becoming Greece then and it isn’t under Obama policy. It was your dufus Cowboy hero George Bush who put the US economy on the fast track to becoming like Greece’s. Obama is just trying to get us back to Clinton-type policy when the economy was booming. Except, the GOP wants to go back to Bush’s economic policy with Romney. The RESEARCH (remember that word) shows that when Americans vote GOP, the vast majority of them are voting against their own economic best interest.

Kudos to Jack Nicklaus for stepping forward and campaigning for Romney/Ryan. He recognizes that President Obama is destroying the American economy and 4 more years of his policies will bankrupt us. THAT IS REALITY, and it takes courage in this ugly political environment to tell THE TRUTH.
President Obama’s supporters are seriously deceived by our President’s dishonest rhetoric. In my lifetime, I have never witnessed a more dishonest President. It is truly shocking and terribly troubling.

Of course Mr. Nicklaus would support Mitt Romney. Jack is not the middle class he is an uber rich man that benefits from Republican tax breaks for the rich.
September 27th, 2012 at 12:23 am
Yea Mitt you show the American people that you are for the 100% instead of the 47% like you were caught saying. You show them by bringing yet another millionaire to speak to represent that you care for the middle class. And by the way I do not re-call any one in any class who have asked you or any other rich person to apologize for being rich. all we ask is for y’all to pay your fair share of what you make. There is no take from the rick and give to the middle class or poor. Just like my taxes, your taxes will go to the government and will be used as the government sees fit. I don’t have a say in how much taxes get taken out neither should you or any other rich person.

Today, durable goods (manufacturing) is DOWN from 1.7 to 1.25-the MOST in the past 3 and a half YEARS! Manufacturers are not going to hire people to produce items when NOBODY is buying!
We have $16 trillion in Obamadebt.
Your Medicare prescription drug costs are going up. the $716 billion taken from Medicare was never put back. The President used Medicare money to fund the beginning of ObamaCare so that he could say it did cost extra money.
Obama stoled from Medicare to pay for ObamaCare. It’s just like what happened before with Social Security. The extra money left over in Social Security was not banked as a savings. It was used for other government expenses. It was stolen from Social Security, just like Obama has stolen from Medicare.
Our gas prices are high and Obama has done nothing to make the USA independent of foreign energy.
We’re dependent on unstable foreign countries in unstable regions of the world.
Instead of being more united as a nation, our president has divided this nation. We expected to be brought together not torn apart during this economic depression.
Food prices continue to escalate.
Our homes are still devalued.
President Obama still refuses to use the word terrorism. Despite the fact that the White House Press Secretary says Yes, it was a terror attack in libya. Those words won’t come out of Obama’s mouth. He’ll let others mouthed those words. We can’t have a liars a President. The people of the USA must be told the truth.
It is a shame that during a 9/11 anniversary in very dangerous countries our ambassador and other Americans had no American protection. President Obama hired local Libyans for security in Libya.
Distrust of the media is at an all time high. We can’t get the truth. News, information is slanted and biased.
What a disservice to all Americans.
That lack of trust will go on forever.
