Democratic poll: Crist unpopular but edges Scott; Nelson leads Mack
by George Bennett | September 4th, 2012CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Former Republican Gov. Charlie Crist, one of the featured speakers at this week’s Democratic National Convention, has a net unfavorable ranking among Florida voters, according to a new survey by the Democratic firm Public Policy Polling.
But Crist, who switched to no party affiliation in 2010 and is rumored to be mulling a 2014 run for governor as a Democrat, would edge Republican Gov. Rick Scott in a hypothetical matchup, PPP says.
Crist is viewed favorably by 36 percent of Floridians and unfavorably by 44 percent, according to the survey of 1,548 likely voters taken Aug. 31-Sept. 2. Democrats and independents have a net favorable view of Crist, while Republicans are overwhelmingly negative. The poll has a 2.5 percent margin of error.
Crist would beat Scott by a 45-to-42 margin, the poll says. But a generic Democrat would beat Scott by the same margin.
Sen. Bill Nelson, who’s attending the convention today only, leads Republican Rep. Connie Mack by a 45-to-38 percent margin in PPP’s poll. Voters disapprove of the job Nelson is doing by a 42-to-35 percent margin. But they’re even more negative toward Mack, with 27 percent having a favorable opinion of him and 45 percent unfavorable.

Well that’s not saying much,Gov Scott will probably rank as one of the worst, most ineffective and divisive Governors in Florida history.
Charlie Crist isn’t even the ball park when you compare the two.

Scott will go down in history as the “bought and paid” for by the insurance industry governor. At least Crist did what was right for the state. If his ego hadn’t gotten the better of him, he could have easily been sitting for his 2nd term as governor right now.

Both are first-class losers and this Independent will do what I did last time…vote for everyone except the Governor. I wasn’t impressed last time with who was running and it seems to be a repeat this time. Why waste my vote? Both candidates are horrible. Choo Choo Charlie as I call him is quite laughable. Maybe he will win or maybe not after his shenigans-he’s just an idiot plain and simple.

I keep saying….poll all you want, but it doesn’t matter until the “fat lady sings” and that won’t happen until the 6th of November. As far as Charlie Crist he is a loser that once had the floridans in the palm of his hand, but let them slip through his fingers like sand. What an idiot. Our Governor, Rick Scott-I can count on my hand how many times I agreeded with his choices. Not much. Bill Nelson should be put out to pasture already. He’s like Dirty Harry-his time is up. The guy isn’t all there.
As far as Connie Mack Jr., I don’t have enough info about him to make a comment-he doesn’t thrill me either way. The Dems are no better than the Rino’s. This Independent has a lot of thinking to do.

When somebody change to another political party for his own
benefit, it is always doubtful to trust his own choice to be
double dipper.

Right, taxpayer. Just like Ronald Reagan did, huh.

Maybe Gov Crist realized that his former party wasn’t what he signed up for and he changed to show that the party of little government that wants to legislate women’s bodies isn’t for him.

Its like you learn my thoughts! You appear to understand so much about this, such as you wrote the guide in it or something. I believe that you simply can do with some p.c. to force the message house a little bit, but instead of that, that is wonderful blog. A fantastic read. I will certainly be back.
