As president, Allen West would have invoked ‘Angel of Death’ in UN speech

by George Bennett | September 26th, 2012

U.S. Rep. Allen West, R-Palm Beach Gardens, didn’t think much of President Obama‘s speech to the United Nations General Assembly on Tuesday.

Obama’s speech included a section in which he said “the future must not belong to those who target Coptic Christians in Egypt…who bully women…who steal a country’s resources” and “who slander the prophet of Islam.”

On his Facebook page, West offered his own suggestion for the speech:

“My statement to the United Nations would have been, ‘The future does not belong to those who attack our Embassies and Consulates and kill our Ambassadors. The Angel of Death in the form of an American Bald Eagle will visit you and wreak havoc and destruction upon your existence.’ “

  1. Mary Ann Russell Says:

Congratulations to Congressman West for showing courage against our enemies; something our President cannot seem to do. Radical Islamics are like rabid dogs; you cannot calm a rabid dog with the offer of a dog biscuit and you cannot calm a radical islamic terrorist with an apology. They are not rational and acting rational towards them is not going to work. The bottom line is Chris Stevens was killed in a terrorist attack but our President cannnot bring himself to admit that. What we need now is strong leadership from someone who is not afraid to speak up to our enemies. Congressman West is one who is not afraid. Unfortunately our Commander in Chief is weak and because of his weakness our country is now preceived as weak.

  2. HankS Says:

As Allen West pointed out, President Obama stated six times in his UN speech that the attacks across the Islamic world are attributed to a video, while his press secretary admits the killing of four Americans was certainly a terrorist attack. The mixed messages from our administration are hurting our standing in the world community, and elevating the status of our enemies.

I agree with Congressman West – we need a president who is outraged with the killing of a US Ambassador and three other Americans, a president who will promise swift justice to any group that attacks our people and facilities.

Obama doesn’t get it. The murder of an ambassador and his people is not a ‘bump in the road’ — it’s an act of war.

  3. Commadorable Says:

I wholeheartly agree with Col West but I think it needs to go further. Barack Hussein Obama and Hillary Clinton need to be held accountable for the deaths of our ambassador and the 3 other Americans in Libya. They were derelict in their duty to protect our embassies and consulates. If Obama had bothered to interrupt his American Idol tour long enough to attend any of his intelligence briefings, he might have seen the warnings for 9/11.

  4. Forgone Conclusion Says:

Congratulations to Mr. West for being so ready, willing and as usual, able to give us another demonstration of his “big mouth syndrome.” Yes, what the U.S. needs now more than ever before is another war in the middle east. You would think that after centuries of warfare the human race might just be finally ready to try to solve differences without resorting to killing people. Silly me, why would the human race ever want to give-up doing what it has learned to do so well! That is have another war and kill some more people. Mr. West and his “crap sandwich rhetoric” is just aching to go to war and kill some more people. We can all rejoice now in knowing that with Mr. West’s limited capacity to think that somehow we will all be better off with West’s fiery, “crap sandwich rhetoric” that will no doubt make the world a better and safer place to live.

  5. Greatwhiteshark Says:

Its about time someone took off the gloves with these morons.

  6. Franklin Says:

Do ya’ll really not hear how crazy and irrational Allen West sounds?!?! THis is a scary over-the-top threat. Our nation has prided itself on diplomacy and tolerance. West is the real threat to our American principles!

  7. David S. Levine, Hobe Sound Says:

As Always, Congressman Allen West has the better of the bunch President Eisenhower called “the columnists and commentators” who sneer at American strength and the Republican Party.

Why do the Islamo-fascists attack American embassies and kill ambassadors? Because they know they can without any consequences. Make a few pay the price of their lives and you’ll see fewer attacks, as the Israelis did when they ended what the Arab savages called an “intifada.”

By the way, The Democ-rat President said at the UN that the Moslems are the biggest victims of the Moslem extremists. The question then becomes why his Democ-rat administration is funneling arms to those extremists in Syria and dealing with them in Egypt? Let every Democ-rat office holder answer that, if any can!

  8. David S. Levine, Hobe Sound Says:

Oh and by the way, Franklin says, “Our nation has prided itself on diplomacy and tolerance.” We all the results of that policy on 9/11/01 and again on 9/11/12. The American Eagle has two talons. One carries the olive branch, the other arrows. Now is the time for arrows!

  9. BustedUpGrunt Says:

Guess West is not a fan of the great President Teddy Roosevelt, who stated “Speak softly, but carry a big stick”.
When you are the world’s big dog, like the US with the strongest military by far, you can afford to send a firm diplomatic message to a diplomatic audience, especially when that specific audience and everyone else on earth already knows we have the overwhelming military power to destroy the entire planet 20 times over.
To speak only of the death and destruction we can bring sends the message that we are but a one-dimensional power, unable to change or shape world events through other non-military means.

West’s “Angel of Death….havoc and destruction” comment is more appropriately stated in the bar on Friday night amongst drunk friends, not by someone universally recognized as the world’s most powerful leader at the UN.
And after West’s proposed havoc and destruction is unleashed……then what?
Is there any other objective he proposes other than destruction for the sole sake of destruction?

West continues his loose cannon behavior now in office, and seems the type of politician who subscribes to the senseless dictum of “what’s the sense of having the world’s most powerful military unless we use it all the time?”
It’s all rah-rah fun ‘n games until your own kid joins the military and gets killed in a West-supported, half-cocked military adventure.

West can go a long way to let us know more about him by releasing his DD-214 Military Discharge form, if only to show if the Army determined his character of military discharge reflected “Other than Honorable” Service.

It’s better for West to keep his mouth shut and be thought the raving lunatic, than to open it and remove all doubt.

  10. Michael Thompson Says:

Flex a trigger-happy muscle or two, sprinkle in a few Judeo-Christian references and make sure there are only white hats and black hats in your political analysis: Allen West’s perfect recipe for keeping America alive in it’s 1950′s glory days.

(And of course as a former military contractor he would also keep billions flowing into DOD)

  11. a sucker born every minute Says:

iraqis all knew the best way to get rid of your rival is to tell americans that hes a terrorist, west swallowed the bait and was the only officer to go overboard. west go played like a fool puppet and was kicked out of the army. iraqis always pulled that stuff against their own enemies, saw that stuff alot with my own eyes

  12. Commadorable Says:

We are not living in Teddy Roosevelt’s era anymore. Obama speaks stupidly and carries no stick. He has ignored our allies and emboldened our enemies. He plans to reduce our military to unprecedented levels. He has whispered to Putin that he will be more flexible after the election. You need to wake up people. Even Madonna said we have a black muslim in the white house!

  13. SouthPB Says:

Funny, for a guy who seems so obsessed about chasing imaginary communists, he comes off sounding a lot like Nikita Kruschchev. All that’s missing is a shoe.

  14. Kathy Morrison Says:

I think Republicans are thought of as Christians. I’m not sure all Republicans are Christians, but for the most part I tend to think they claim to be. Jesus said — pray for your enemies; turn the other cheek. Why don’t you try that??? Why not call a national day of prayer of Christians to pray to God to bless anyone who are presumed to be our enemies and see if God will make a miracle? Why always war talk?

  15. JulieAnn Says:

The U.S. always tried diplomacy first and if that does not work and it appears to be an attack on us, then we have to face it with reality and state the obvious, you attack us…. we will come down on you. The attack on our embassy is not a law and order issue that can be handled with arrests (how would you find them?). Good for West with the common sense answer to these horrific issues that interfere with humanity.

  16. Michael Says:

As usual Alan West shows us the dillusional idiocy of today’s republican party. When are you morons going to join the real world. Ready, shoot aim! Ask our wounded veterans how they liked W’s foreign policy. Nothing but a bunch of lemming chicken hawks.

  17. a sucker born every minute Says:

hah, all you fools think that a right answer exists for every problem in the world outside of usa, or that any presidnet can say an do something that keeps people in the rest of the world from doing what they want. most ya’ll think your solutions willhave immediate results. only foreign travvel you clowns ever took was all the way to walmart. most americans think they know about the rest of the world, and how their guy can fix it. dummies

  18. Scatterthevultures Says:

    IKE: Mcarthyism? No. McCarthywasm.
    18th: Westism? No. Westwasm.

  19. Sane Says:

Looks like Allen West’s paid bloggers are working overtime. The simple truth is Allen West is the lunatic fringe.

  20. JanetAnn Says:

    Allen West – September 25, 2012 –

“In his speech today to the United Nations, President Obama stated six times that the attacks across the Islamic world are attributed to a silly video. Furthermore, he refused to use the words terrorist attack in referring to what occurred in Benghazi Libya at our US Consulate on the 11th anniversary of 9-11. He continues to offer up apologies instead of defending our hard earned First Amendment right to freedom of speech and expression. There is no message to this silly video trailer, and it is beneath the dignity and esteem of the Office of the President of the United States to mention it at all. When tolerance becomes a one way street it leads to cultural suicide. I shall not be tolerant of the intolerant. I know about the UN Resolution 1618 which would make any statement deemed by the Organization of Islamic Countries (OIC) “offensive’ to Islam a crime…..NOT ON MY WATCH FELLAS!” –

  21. Trenda Coop Says:

Stop being the nigger in the Big House and come down from the BS they are feeding you, they have gotten you so hyped on the money (fundraising) that you are about to OD on their love.

Be careful my bother, much love for ya!

  22. 99 problems but the 49% ain't one Says:

thank GOD West will never be in the White House and will never be able to address the UN.

  23. tommy Says:

West, and his supporters, are a dangerous bunch. I firmly believe that he is insane.

Keep talking West and keep bringing shame upon yourself, your supporters and the political party that funds your existence.

The people are sick of this sideshow and it will be a lot of fun to see him go down on November 6.

How much do you want to bet that West refuses to vacate his office and still attempts to vote next January?

  24. Adidas Jeremy Scott Says:

I have seen lots of useful items on your internet site about personal computers. However, I’ve the judgment that netbooks are still not quite powerful enough to be a good selection if you normally do jobs that require lots of power, including video enhancing. But for net surfing, statement processing, and majority of other popular computer functions they are just fine, provided you do not mind the tiny screen size. Many thanks for sharing your ideas.

  25. Carol Ottinger Says:

All the flap and all the bluster will not mean one thing when your Medicare is gone. If West was all that tough, he would be standing up for Seniors, not tossing them under the bus.

  26. JohnG911 Says:

Col. Allen West is a great American hero. Keep up the good work!

The term “democrat” originated as an epithet or insult and referred to ‘one who panders to the crude and mindless whims of the masses.”

  27. Killdorn Says:

@ trenda coop you are suckered in by that Malik Shabazz racist rhetoric, why is it that a black man can’t be a conservative without being called a nigger. BTW Malik Shabazz called our own President Obama another white man’s nigger. Stop with the race baiting its old already……..

  28. Kevin Says:

Allen West is a great American; period. He gives me confidence that America will survive. Weak democrates who wish to appease are so very dangerous. God bless Allen West and the US.

  29. Julian Alien Says:

West is right because he is ex military and pays attention to the reports that come in.There were alternative reasons why this attack happened, and the terrorists(freedom fighters)were coerced into their behavior, but if our representatives and soldiers are attacked we must not apologize because it is the leaders who start the problems and the common man who is dealt the burden of cleaning it up.If we send people overseas they are just doing their job.I personally am in favor of closing down embassies in many countries, not just to save money, but to save lives. We do need that money.
