With a plug for Rick Scott, Lt. Gov. Jennifer Carroll delivers Florida’s 50 delegates to Romneyby George Bennett | August 28th, 2012
TAMPA — Florida’s 50 delegates were pledged to Mitt Romney at about 5:15 this evening by Lt. Gov. Jennifer Carroll during the roll call of states at the Republican National Convention.
Carroll first asked for a moment of silence “for those that have been affected by Isaac the storm as well as those who will potentially be impacted by the storm.”
“Florida is the Sunshine State — well, most times,” Carroll said.
Carroll called Florida the “proud home of Gov. Rick Scott, who has shown America that Florida knows how to prepare and respond to hurricanes and provide hospitality to our visitors. Florida is also proud to have been the home of Gov. Romney’s first major-state primary victory, the proud home to the convention that will nominate Gov. Romney for president and the proud home of 29 electoral votes that will put Gov. Romney over the top in November when we make him President Romney.”
