Murphy puts Allen West’s words in the mouths of kids to decry ‘bullying and name-calling’
by George Bennett | August 23rd, 2012Democratic challenger Patrick Murphy‘s newest TV ad uses kids on a playground to repeat some of Republican Rep. Allen West‘s controversial words and decry the incumbent’s “bullying and name-calling.”
The ad depicts Murphy, a 29-year-old rookie candidate who’s being helped by at least $250,000 in superPAC contributions from his father, as the more mature candidate in the race.
“I’ll reach across the aisle and solve problems,” Murphy tells voters in the Palm Beach-Treasure Coast swing district. As for West, the ad concludes with a telegenic girl declaring: “You need a time out.”

Some facts about Murphy.
He was a Republican before he became a Democrat.
He had to move twice to ‘live’ in the area he wanted to ‘represent’.
Murphy is employed by his father.
Murphy’s father has funded the ads against Allen West.
Murphy has never served in the US armed forces.

Pretty dumb ad. glad to see murphy employing the obama campaign tactics of just putting down your opponent. then again when you have nothing to run on thats all you’ve got.

I spent 10 years in the Army and did a tour in Iraq. That does not make me a better person to run for congress, so I do not understand your comment.
I just want my representation to represent me, and not be a nut job like most politicians are proving to be, on both sides of the isle…..

George Bennett has this one pegged: Murphy is a 29 year old rookie supported by his father and trying to act mature.
Murphy’s ad strings together totally out of context quotes in his latest hit-piece. His stupid ads are an insult to the citizens of the Treasure Coast.
It’s time for Murphy to man up, step into daylight and meet Congressman West in four public debates on the key issues facing our country. Is Murphy a chicken?

The commercial is despicable. So far all I have heard from Murphy is he will reach across the isle – really on what issues, what is your plan? What are your thoughts about Medicare & Social Security? Do you have a solution to keep them solvent for the next generation? What are your ideas about creating jobs, cutting burdensome regulations, revising our tax code, encouraging manufacturing to come back to the US? I have not heard a single idea from you. All I have heard from you are nasty comments about Allen West.

Next time I read a blog, I hope that it won’t fail me just as much as this particular one. After all, Yes, it was my choice to read through, but I genuinely thought you would have something helpful to say. All I hear is a bunch of whining about something you can fix if you weren’t too busy seeking attention.

This ad is unbelievable. using children in a political ad using sound bites, very bad taste. Murphy when are you going to stop attacking West and actually tell us what your platform is. You are such a coward you only want 2 debates with your pick of soft monerators, and no rebuttals. You must have at least 3. Don’t you know the rules all debates have rebuttals, otherwise they would just be speeches.We are waiting to hear from you.
