CD 22: Underdog Jacobs outraises Frankel, Hasner eclipses both Dems

by Dara Kam | August 3rd, 2012

Broward County Commissioner Kristin Jacobs, the underdog in the U.S. House District 22 Democratic primary, outraised former West Palm Beach mayor Lois Frankel by more than $9,000 over the last four weeks, according to the latest campaign finance reports.

Jacobs – eclipsed overall in fundraising by Frankel, who has a year-long head start in the race, and with just a fraction of Frankel’s cash-on-hand – raised $59,230 in the short July 1- July 25 pre-primary period and another $8,000 since then, according to the reports. And Frankel collected $53,192 for the period and another $5,000 as of Aug. 2.

But GOP candidate Adam Hasner, who does not have a primary in the new Palm Beach-Broward congressional district, overshadowed both Democrats over the past month. Hasner raked in more than $172,847 and another $3,000, bringing his total for the short fundraising period to more than the Democrats’ combined contributions.

And, with $1 million in his campaign war chest as of July 25, Hasner had a slight edge over Frankel, who reported $950,000 cash on hand after spending more than $330,000 on TV ads and nearly $16,000 on polling. Jacobs had about $48,000 going into the Aug. 14 primary.

  2. Frankel is Old Democrat Says:

    Go Kristen Jacobs!

We’re tired of the same old re-cycled politicians (Lois Frankel) who run from one political office to another whenever they are termed-out. Lifetime eaters at the public trough.

    Frankel is old.

Former Mayor Frankel has left the City of WPB in huge debt (the BALLOON payment is coming due for WPB TAXPAYERS-that construction was NOT FREE)

Frankel refused to allow citizens in WPB a referendum, A VOICE on construction in downtown WPB. (and she has an ad out spouting how she ‘works’ for the people-phooey! LIES!)

Frankel was faulted by the judicial system for failing to allow the citizens’ referendum.

and then Frankel CLAIMS she’s for the people!

    Please!

Vote for Kristen Jacobs, or Adam Hasner WILL win.

And time for the old democrats in PB County to start accepting NEW faces and names instead of the same old, same old people.

It’s a new generation of democrats surfacing and the old generation REFUSES to let them rise to the top.

The old democrats are strangling the new democrat voices. They refuse to move aside and in doing so, will bring defeat for the party.

  3. Government interference in health matters Says:

Starting at the age of 50 you will only be allowed mammograms every 2 yrs, not yearly.

After the age of 75 government will not pay for mammograms. You will have to fight with your doctor and the government for a mammogram. If you are between the ages of 18 and 49 no testing mammo recommended!

Ages 18-39 Cervical(so deadly!)cancer screenings every 3 yrs. 65 and older…fight with doctor (Who won’t be paid) and the government to decide your care.

Cholestral test – not part of the regular check up anymore!

Colorectal testing starts at 50, too bad if you’re younger.

US Government crafts a matrix and establishes, tells doctors what tests, screening, procedures to administer, when they should administer them and how often.

In Israel, doctors have gone on strike protesting their own pay! and protesting government’s restrictions for care of their patients.

In England, doctors went on strike for better pension benefits! You wait a long time for appt, for operations, medications.

Our government is putting another layer of burden on American citizens. You will have to fight the government for care you currently receive and need.

Absolutely NO to ObamaCare. It needs to be repealed and rewritten with all parties at the table. No more closed door sessions like the democrats conducted. Shame on them.

Scroll down for the government matrix and your treatment and screening schedule.

Lois Frankel has done nothing for you. She has cushioned herself with a plum pension, totally paid healthcare AND LONG TERM care that was part of her mayoral healthcare package. We pay for her exceptional healthcare-even long term healthcare with are tax money and in the meantime, our screenings are being reduced or become non-existent.

    NO to FRANKEL.
    YES to HASNER.

  4. Jayrae Says:

Does the corrupt Bush-wacking machine seriously think we are going to show up at the polls to support Hasner who co-sponsored Gore-bull warming legislation in Florida after having to go out of our way to get Allen West elected?
Screw the GOPe! We deserved a primary and are not voting for any of their corruptocrats.
At least we will be able to ensure only Democrats get invited to cocktail parties.

  5. Frankel's abuse Says:

Nice try to deflect and reframe the discussion from the termed out, old bag Frankel.

Frankel can’t get along with people. Look at how, as mayor of WPB, she berated public speakers at city commission meetings.

She just does not have good social skills, nor good speaking skills. And she absolutely has left the city of WPB in serious debt that is coming due.

Lois Frankel refused to wait for the citizens of WPB to vote on a referendum on building. She went ahead and built and then a judge found she violated the public’s right to vote and decide to build.

That is a true example as to how she shows her finger to the voting public.

Don’t believe the political ad she has running, she does not work for the people.

“Rather than schedule the referendum, Mayor Frankel went to court. Her strategy was obvious and calculated. While the legal fight went on, so did construction of City Center. If she lost in court, Mayor Frankel would argue that the project was too far along for any vote that might overturn the move of the library.

Ultimately, Mayor Frankel DID LOSE at the 4th District Court of Appeal. The Florida Supreme Court declined to hear Mayor Frankel’s appeal. That was in May 2008. A vote never took place. One month later, Mayor Frankel bought off the petitioners with $300,000 that covered their legal fees.:

and ofcourse, we the PEOPLE, paid the $300,000 cost, not Mayor Lois Frankel.

This is the kind of person she is. She is NOT for the people and allowing them a say, it’s ALL HER WAY, at WHATEVER THE COST!
