Allen West SERVICED in our military.

Did Murphy SERVE his country? Did he put his life on the line? Was he EVER responsible for the SAFETY of his troops?

Patrick Murphy is a carpetbagger who moved from Miami Dade County to Broward County to run for office. He WAS a Republican, then switched to Democrat and he is “EMPLOYED” and Funded by his father.

I’ll take the guy who served his country over Murphy who has done NOTHING for his country.

We must remember that S FL is dominated by democrats who will tinged every story and enhance a neophyte of their making into political office.

Don’t let the domination of one political party sway your vote.

Patrick Murphy has done nothing for our county, our state or our country. He’s led the ‘good life’.

He was dischagred from his “service to his country” for actions unbecomming to the military. Notice on his commercials he speaks of his father and his brother’s “service to America” but not his? Slavery–a system of labor wherein human beings are bought and sold as commodities and forced AGAINST THEIR WILL to work FOR NO PAY, typically under threat of bodily harm.

SSDI is paid into via one’s own contributions to the FICA payroll tax. The benefit is a MONETARY CONTRIBUTION to the recipient. Recipients are not automatically entitled to benefits but instead must go through a time-consuming application and qualification process.

So let’s see. Slavery: People forced to work for no pay. SSDI: Government pays a monetary benefit, recipients cannot by definition work due to physical limitations.

How exactly is one the same as the other?

I think the point of West’s remarks was that somehow the President is creating dependency and slavery through his policies. West regularly makes these kinds of outrageous and dubious claims because he has no record of his own. The voters of Palm Beach county know this, and the voters of Martin county need to know this. West is an abrasive, angry, ego driven, know nothing, loud mouth. Vote him in and you will be embarrassed.

Of course I can’t site reports, but I work with the kids/adults and witness is regularly! Parents getting the kids’ SSI checks and the kids don’t even know about it. Baby-momma is getting a check when baby-daddy has custody and baby daddy doesn’t know about the check! Young working adults who turn down jobs because the family won’t give up the free money..at the expense of the working kid!One family told the kid to quit his job or move out. His income was going to cause them to lose food stamps! Keep your head in the sand Mimi….this fraud is all over and the looney lefties want to portray all the recipients as poor, down trodden souls. Way too much fraud which hurts those who really need the assistance.

If you know of someone who is cheating the system, REPORT THEM. You know some the the biggest dregs of society. The hardworking, honest, people I know who HAD to apply for SSI benefits went through HELL trying to get them. They were DISABLED and couldn’t work. I highly doubt more people received SSI in Florida than got jobs. Cite the RELIABLE source and I’ll believe it. Floridagirl7-you obviously weren’t old enough to remember the BUSH era debacle of SPEND, SPEND, SPEND-get the U.S. into a war we shouldn’t have been in, spent ALL of the surplus left in the coffers from the Clinton years and ran the economy into a RECORD BREAKING DEFICIT. Times were good before Bush went into office. Our economy imploded (Banks failing/Stock Market crashes. Obama inherited a hornet’s nest. Granted, he hasn’t made all the right moves either; but the House Republicans have done everything in their power to make sure he CAN’T do anything to help the country move in a positive direction. Read some history before you make uninformed comments. Listen to the Republican candidates and ask yourself: What is their plan to turn the economy around? Mr. West please think before you speak. I know President Obama didn’t create SSI (public school history class) nor does the president approve or disapprove citizens who go on SSI Disability. I suggest if you have a problem with SSI you, along with your constituents work together to improve SSI Disability approval process instead of political party infighting!

Ha, ha, ha, ha…. there may be a FEW cheats!?! WOW! That’s not what I’ve seen. Many cheat the SSI system. Two personal examples – group of individuals running a Miami Beach Cash Car Wash, all on SSI. They obviously can and do work but choose SSI and brag about their Uncle Sam paying for their apartment. Childhood friend, injured leg working and is now on SSI – $2,500 a month! He now can kayak dive in 4 to 6′ seas. Pretty capable, I would say! SSI may be a long drawn out process, but many more are applying. I am by no means a Tea party person, but Alan West has a point. He calls it slavery, but from my perspective I call it robbery! The system is broken and we are on a ship that is leaking from many holes in the system…

I’m not a fan of Mr. West’s provocative language (its the reverse of slavery – getting money for producing nothing), but dependence on government is a dangerous temptation. Why would someone put up with the stress and hassle of working for only a few dollars more than they might collect staying home (or going to the beach)?

If you know the people you are being interviewed by, the process goes a lot easier.

Pay attention to those with handicapped tags/mirror signs at how fast they park and run to the front door.

Dear Sign o Times: You’ve been smoking something out of Al Gore’s Lock-box. The government spent all that money you contributed over your lifetime. All that’s left is IOU’s from the Federal Government, which is the only thing that distinguishes SS from Bernie Madoff. The Trust Fund already pays out more than it collects, and with the ratio of workers to recipients continuing to fall, this will only accelerate.

Also, the SCOTUS has ruled that receiving SS is not a right (Fleming v. Nestor). You are at the mercy of government. (That’s part of the basis for “privatizing” a portion of SS – like a 401k it’s yours, and you can leave what’s left to your children when you die, which you can’t do with SS)

Seeithappening, cite your sources and factual statistics for your claims. You can’t. You’ve heard some dubious story, probably from a rabid talk show rant or some such unreliable person who has heard a story…. There may be a few cheats, but not many.

It’s hard to get SSI benefits…. Many who deserve and have great need get turned down.

Alan West is a prejudiced, I’ll informed man who spouts nonsense. He deserves to get his arse whooped this fall. Working men and women should realize that voting for him is a vote of support for the fat cats and 1%, not for working people’s best interests.
