Democrat Murphy’s poll shows him tied with Allen West
by George Bennett | May 10th, 2012Democrat Patrick Murphy‘s campaign today released its own poll that shows him tied with Republican U.S. Rep. Allen West, R-Plantation, in the new Palm Beach-Treasure Coast district where the two are running.
The survey by veteran Democratic pollster Keith Frederick shows the race tied at 45 percent apiece, with 10 percent undecided. The same poll shows Republican Mitt Romney leading President Obama by a 49-to-46 percent margin in the district.
West represents Palm Beach-Broward congressional District 22, but when redistricting gave that district a Democratic tilt, he announced he would run in the new District 18, which is fairly evenly split between Republicans and Democrats.
West campaign manager Tim Edson scoffed at Murphy’s poll, but declined to offer any information on polling the West campaign has done.
“We do not discuss strategy or internal survey numbers,” Edson said. “This ‘poll’ is a pathetic commentary on Patrick Murphy and his campaign. If he is going to concoct poll numbers, he should at least show himself in the lead.”

The poll was conducted in sissy bars, NOW Hq, NAMBLA hang outs, and in basements in suburbs where OWS members live with their parents.

I met up with Patrick Murphy a few weeks ago where Patrick did more listening than talking. Something West should do more often.

It would an upset akin to The Miracle on Ice of 1980, Douglas beating Tyson, SuperBowl 3 with Namath or the 1969 Miracle Mets. If West were to be taken down it would be a MAJOR MAJOR SURPRISE!!

Patrick Murphy is the candidate I want to be my Congressman. He is honest, cares about the people and the issues that are so important to Florida, SS, Medicare, Education, Environment, JOBS, Quote from Allen West“In the last 10 years, the food stamp program that has gone from about $20.6 billion to over $75 billion. I seem to remember the West people jumping up and down with joy whenever their pollster caim out with similar news. Be consistent people, either every poll is meaningful or isn’t.
Or are the West supporters starting to feel the inevitably of supporting a bully deadbeat?

Bingo.
The other thing that’s deflating to them is that they are starting to realize that the vast majority of West’s support comes from deep-red states like Texas, Oklahoma, Mississippi and Idaho… his supporters, largely, ARE NOT FLORIDA VOTERS IN A SWING DISTRICT.
And he just wrote an op-ed defending the 1% by suggesting that it is such a great thing that 1%ers hire lots of maids and servants for their yachts. Seriously. He wrote that.

Glad to see Patrick Murphy doing so well but it’s a long way til November. You never know what the slimy Mr. West has up his sleeve. I am sure that we will get to see just how much of a homophobe West really is! And we know that West only likes certain flavors of ice cream, that’s for sure! Go get ‘em MURPHY!

West’s campaign manager scoffed that Murphy’s poll didn’t show Murphy in the lead. Maybe that’s because the numbers were honest and the race is that close. If so, that spells trouble for West.
