Mack blasts Nelson, Obama on Keystone pipeline in first radio ad

by George Bennett | April 24th, 2012

Mack

U.S. Rep. Connie Mack, R-Cape Coral, isn’t merely looking beyond GOP Senate primary rivals George LeMieux and Mike McCalister in his paid media campaign. Mack is also skipping traditional introductory bio spots aimed at general election voters and proceeding straight to specific attacks on Democratic Sen. Bill Nelson.

Mack’s first TV ad, released earlier this month, blasts stimulus supporter Nelson for a $144,541 provision in the $787 billion legislation to study the effects of cocaine on monkeys.

Obama and Nelson

Mack’s first radio ad, released today, takes aim at Nelson and President Obama for opposing a Senate measure last month to approve the Keystone XL pipeline. While voting against the measure, Nelson did vote for a failed Democratic version that would approve the pipeline on the condition that none of the Canadian crude oil be exported.

Transcript of Connie Mack’s new radio ad:

Rising gas prices hurt families and kill jobs. That’s a fact.

Still, the Lockstep Liberals, Barack Obama and Bill Nelson, refuse to build the Keystone pipeline. That pipeline would bring Canadian oil to America. It’s energy we desperately need. The pipeline would create thousands of jobs and make America less dependent on Middle Eastern oil.

But President Obama and Senator Nelson are afraid of the political clout of a few left-wing environmental extremists.

Let’s stop the extremists by signing Connie Mack’s petition to force Washington to build the Keystone pipeline. Go to www.ConnieMack.com.

    “It’s energy we desperately need”

    Yup, someone’s desperate alright!

Mack didn’t even bother to check the facts.

“””Gas prices are higher now, but there’s no evidence that Obama’s policies on Alaska, Solyndra or the Keystone XL caused the higher prices. We rate the statement False.”””

Here’s another, more detailed article exposing the right wing’s LIES on energy.

“””President Obama said that “producing more oil at home isn’t enough by itself to bring gas prices down” because “the price of oil will still be set by the global market.” Economists agree that this is true. Indeed, even as domestic production has increased, gas spikes in the U.S. have become an annual occurrence: They’ve come earlier—and abated less—during every year since 2009.

All of which is to say that for the immediate future and maybe longer, high gas prices are here to stay. Neither presidents nor pipelines can do much about it.”””

    STOP THE LIES, GOP!!!

    WAKE UP FLORIDA!!!

CONNIE MACK AND THE REPUBLICANS ARE LYING TO YOU!

HOLD THEM ACCOUNTABLE FOR THIS BREACH OF THE PUBLIC TRUST IN NOVEMBER.

  2. Saving fl future Says:

It may seem admirable that Mack endorses projects that may bring work to states other than Florida, however this is at Florida’s expense. The oil sands of Canada are one of the most destructive forms of extraction of natural resources and carbon generation which advances global warming. Florida coastlines will be impacted in the billions of dollars from destruction due to sea level rise and climate change.
Does Mack deny climate change or does he just not care about the potential impacts of the state he seeks to represent?

  3. TrueAmerican56 Says:

I would just love for the GOP to say the truth for a change, that would be a breath of fresh air. The pipeline extension is NOT DESIGNED TO LOWER PRICES, it is actually designed to raise prices for the Mid-West, where the tar sand oil has been backed up, so lower prices for them. Once they can get the oil to the Texas Gulf Coast, it will be refined for export to South America and Europe. TRUTH

If you think that will somehow lower prices in the US, I’m sure the GOP can sell you a bridge to nowhere.

  4. Downtown Danny Says:

And what has Mack done while in Congress to lower the price of gas? NOTHING!
And what has Mack done while in Congress?
    NOTHING!
But he did have adulterous affairs all over DC, then started an adulterous affair with Sony Bono’s widow, spent all his off time with her in California, and left his kids and wife after sending voters their photo a flyer touting his “family values” – Mack is unfit for any public office.

  5. Gilbert EngageAmerica Says:

We really can’t continue to do this. Keystone has been in talks forever and just when it gets some approval it gets knocked back to square one. going back and forth on this issue. This continuing volley is an extreme nuisance not just for securing energy for people who need jobs! What we need to realize is that Keystone solves the problems of jobs and labor that we have been facing for a while(http://eng.am/xmoh86). We need this project so we can start making a recovery. What are we waiting for?

  6. enough is enough Says:

Funny how all of these comments come from the same person. Blame it all on former President Bush. obama doesn’t want the U.S. to produce oil because it will take away the stronghold his cousins have on the market!! Nelson is a two faced liar just like the rest of those in D.C. now!!

  7. ALLEN WEST MUST GO! Says:

    “enough is enough”

    Hey idiot.

OIL PRODUCTION IN THE USA IS ***UP*** UNDER OBAMA !

    USE GOOGLE!

    STOP LYING!

  8. rasta paul Says:

Maybe the facts should be presented for once. Pipeline can’t be approved since 2 republican states have yet to permit right of way. Typical republican lies and half truths. Who benefits the most from no pipeline, simple question? check it out for yourself.

  9. LOL Says:

FORTY YEARS and WHAT has Democrat Senator Bill Nelson DONE for his state of FLORIDA?

Citizens CAN’T name 1 thing Bill Nelson has done in 40 years. That’s a BIG problem.

Name 1 thing Nelson has done!

Can tell you Bill Nelson has done NOTHING to bring jobs to FL. And he certainly never stood up to stop the avalanche of 26,000 JOBS LOST on the Space Coast.

What have you DONE, Mr. Nelson, what have you done?

  10. Lies Says:

Oil production is DOWN, GAS prices are UP.

FOOD prices are UP. (and Bill Nelson gets an agricultural TAX reduction on land he OWNS, and puts 6 damn cows on!

But the rest of us keep getting stuck with OUR tax bills. NO reduction there!

Our borders in FL are NOT protected. We read daily of illegals ENTERING our state.

    DO NUTHIN’ NELSON.

    FORTY YEARS IS TOO MUCH!

  11. It's starting. Says:

The public sees that the democrats will do anything to stay in office.

Death threats already to Marco Rubio.

We have entered an evil era in politics.

  12. ALLEN WEST MUST GO! Says:

    “Oil production is DOWN”

    You are simply a LIAR!

    Here is the chart.

    http://www.eia.gov/dnav/pet/hist/LeafHandler.ashx?n=pet&s=mcrfpus1&f=a

    Look at 2009.

Look at the little line go up.

    Simple as that.

Domestic oil production has INCREASED under President Obama.

    Period.

    NOW STOP LYING.

  13. ALLEN WEST MUST GO! Says:

If you look at the monthly oil production in the USA, that too is going up.

In fact, we are producing 41,000 more barrels of oil EACH MONTH than we were in the very beginning of 2009 when Obama was elected.

    Here is the monthly chart:

    http://www.eia.gov/dnav/pet/hist/LeafHandler.ashx?n=pet&s=mcrfpus1&f=m

  14. Downtown Danny Says:

Keystone Pipeline = natural gas being EXPORTED out of America! That’s why oil companies want it! Keystone will not decrease our gas prices bu 1 cent. About jobs – Republican Gov Scott killed the hi-speed rail WE VOTED FOR that would have created 50,000 jobs in our state!

  15. What? Says:

“Rising gas prices hurt families and kill jobs. That’s a fact.”
And very disappointing fact. However the desire to be less dependent on Middle East politics is unfortunately an utopia
