Seniors awaiting Biden in Broward applaud Hanks-narrated video

by George Bennett | March 23rd, 2012

COCONUT CREEK — About 400 or more people — mostly seniors — have turned out to hear Vice President Joe Biden at the Wynmoor retirement community here.

Biden is expected to bash Republican Medicare proposals. He’ll also make a stop for a private meeting with about 40 “community leaders” in Hollywood, one Democratic operative said.

The Obama campaign’s 17-minute video narrated by Tom Hanks just played for the crowd as it awaits Biden. Portions mentioning the killing of Osama bin Laden and the 2010 passage of the health care bill got applause from the audience.

    Republicans want to KILL MEDICARE.

This would literally KILL SENIOR CITIZENS.

    Enough is enough.

We need to protect the American people — particularly the most vulnerable — and not treat them like CHATTEL to be bought and sold by mega-corporations.

The only way to protect our seniors from the GOP is to VOTE VOTE VOTE in massive numbers to REMOVE the Republicans from our government. ALL OF THEM.

Republican do not want to kill Medicare.
A portion of the healthcare plan cuts Medicare as well. Wake up and stop eating the talking points of both parties. They both want to screw you.

The voucher program DOES in fact kill medicare.

    That is a fact.

If that plan passes, poor seniors will die.

    That is a fact.

    You cannot disagree with facts.

The Ryan budget in the next ten years, gets most of the cuts come from repealing Obama-care ($1.4 trillion in savings), Starting in 2022, Ryan turns Medicare into a voucher program, capping discretionary spending at 2008 levels ($920 billion), turning Medicaid into a block grant program ($730 billion) and finding an additional $1.8 trillion in mandatory cuts.Makes Medicaid and the SNAP (food stamp) program block grants to states. Caps funding for each, Cuts Pell grants to 2008 levels.
Total cuts in low-income programs (including cuts in both discretionary and entitlement programs) appear likely to account for at least $3.3 trillion — or 62 percent Ryan’s total budget cuts, and probably significantly more than that; Ryan’s tax reform, cutting corporate rate and top individual rate from 35% to 25% more tax incentives for the “job” creators
Ryan cuts $5.8 Trillion in government spending over the next ten years, relative to current policy path. It is cut of $6.2 Trillion in the Obama budget.
according to Robert Greenstein the founder and President of the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities. “The new Ryan budget is a remarkable document — one that, for most of the past half-century, would have been outside the bounds of mainstream discussion due to its extreme nature. In essence, this budget is Robin Hood in reverse — on steroids. It would likely produce the largest redistribution of income from the bottom to the top in modern U.S. history and likely increase poverty and inequality more than any other budget in recent times (and possibly in the nation’s history).”
The Ryan Budget is a sham that perpetuates the Massive redistribution of wealth that has devastated the American working class through Voodoo, Reaganomics.
