Gov. Scott orders redistricting session March 14-28

by John Kennedy | March 9th, 2012

Gov. Rick Scott has called lawmakers back into special session to redraw Senate boundaries March 14-28.

The move comes hours after the Florida Supreme Court upheld the House map but rejected the Senate plan as unconstitutional.

Senate Reapportionment Chairman Don Gaetz, R-Niceville, made the redistricting re-do sound relatively easy when he announced the special session plans shortly before midnight Friday. But recasting at least 10 districts targeted by a majority of justices will have ripple effects across the entire 40-member plan.
