“He may all by himself just have saved Western civilization,” Dinerstein said when he introduced West at a Republican Executive Committee meeting in West Palm Beach.
Dinerstein said West’s decision to go against many in the tea party and support a debt ceiling compromise assured its passage in the Republican-controlled House and spared the GOP any blame for a federal default or government shutdown.
“The first nationally recognized House figure that publicly said ‘I’m in’ was Congressman Allen West. And that was not just one vote, because Allen is the de facto leader of the freshman Republicans in Washington. And that allowed every one of them to go to their constituency and say ‘Guys, Allen West is in. This is a deal that we can live with.’ “
If the deal had failed in the House and any havoc had ensued, Dinerstein said, “it would have been on us. And ‘on us’ means the country would say ‘We don’t trust you to run the country in November 2012.’”

Allow me to finish the thought.
But with Republican support the compromise passed. The S&P debt downgrade then landed on exactly the right person, the MIA President of the United States. And now the whole country knows that we are leaderless…until November 2012.

Sid Dinerstein needs to remove his nose from West’s behind.
Everyone in the Country knows the Republicans/Tea Party are to blame for the downgrade and West stated in the past that a downgrade or default was not such a big deal.
Not sure which of you is the bigger jerk.

And this is why the GOP has every possibility of losing seats in the House and failing to take back the Senate and White House in 2012.
Shut up Sid. Allen West didn’t have any impact on the vote.

The democrats controlled the Senate and the Congress when Obama took office in 2008. The democrats controlled ALL.
The people spoke (shellacking) and still the democrats control the Senate and the Executive branch today.
It is their failure which has placed America in jeopardy.
Democrats screwed up, royally. A party that won’t man-up, shouldn’t be returned to office in 2012.

Oh my, this is nonsense indeed. Mr. West did not “save” Western civilization. He voted for a weak “compromise” bill that will add TRILLIONS to our national debt.
And he showed that he will abandon his principles while under pressure.
See you at the polls, Mr. West. We Tea Partiers will remember what you did under pressure.

I have supported and continue to support Allen West. I was present at last night’s meeting and Congressman West gave a full and reasonable explanation regarding his vote. Sid makes sense in his analogy. So those conservative pundits who keep lashing out that you’re through, I ask you are you voting for Democrats as your alternative? Where is the logic in that?
