Allen West factor? Politico says House GOP freshmen moving toward Boehner plan

by George Bennett | July 27th, 2011

House Speaker John Boehner‘s two-step debt-ceiling plan got a rough reception from many conservatives and the Congressional Budget Office on Tuesday, forcing GOP leadership to put off a vote that had been slated for today.

But Politico is reporting today that support for the Boehner plan from members of the tea party-dominated House GOP freshman class “appears to be building” after a GOP conference meeting this morning. The Politico story quotes U.S. Rep. Allen West, R-Plantation, the national tea party celeb who declared himself an early backer of the Boehner plan on Tuesday.

Wow, the Tea Party and Allen West are backing the plan. How about Sarah Palin to give it some real credibility. Maybe The Donald will throw in with it too. I have no idea why Obama doesn’t declare the country a national disaster area and just do what he wants to do. Givin the climate of the current government, I think disaster area is a bit of an understatement. I have more faith in our President than I ever will of Boehner or West.

This president? Mr. Hold-up-your-finger to see which way the wind is blowing, who doesn’t have an ounce of integrity in his entire body?

“The fact that we are here today to debate raising America ‘s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the US Government can not pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies. Increasing America ‘s debt weakens us domestically and internationally. Leadership means that, “the buck stops here.’ Instead, Washington is shifting the burden of bad choices today onto the backs of our children and grandchildren. America has a debt problem and a failure of leadership. Americans deserve better.”
    – Senator Barack H. Obama, March 2006

  3. Jennifer Says:

Allen West knows all about not paying your creditors, and cherry picking which ones to pay.
Who cares what that A-hole says.

    I agree.
Obama is right when he says that:
“America has a debt problem and a failure of leadership. America deserves better.”
So vote out congressional incumbents along with Obama in November of 2012.

  5. Michael S. Says:

  6. Brown.Pelican Says:

Just keep on heading toward dooms day with the economy you fools with the blinders on.

Keep pointing fingers across the ocean saying Greece needs to take their medicine and fix their warped tax code & lower their government spending to pay off their debts. That’s you in the mirror… not Greece.

  7. Searcher Says:

Alan West wants to SAVE HIS JOB. If he keeps up the WACKO TEATARD party line, he will be a one term wonder. Ahh, look how well Washington corrupts the IDEOLOGICALLY PURE!!!

  8. obamaSUCKS Says:

West is too liberal, like Boehner, to be considered a conservative or Tea Party member.
