Dave Aronberg for state attorney?

by George Bennett | April 11th, 2011

Palm Beach County State Attorney Michael McAuliffe recently launched his 2012 reelection bid and hasn’t drawn an opponent.

Democrat McAuliffe’s first big fund-raiser this week features popular Sheriff Ric Bradshaw as a “special guest.”

Some McAuliffe critics have floated the name of former Democratic state Sen. Dave Aronberg as a potential challenger.

Find out what Aronberg has to say about it in this week’s Politics column (third item).

  1. Fred Says:

Judge John Kastranokis would be a wonderful candidate. He would rid CORRUPTION from the Courts and “SA”….

He indicted 4 County Commissioners. The Current “SA” is a political Hack….

  2. once republican Says:

Aronberg would be a good choice. We do need to get rid of the empty skirt.

  3. A friend of jack Says:

Any one other than who we are stuck with at the present time can’t be a bad choice.

  4. David Says:

I think McAuliffe is doing a fine job. He is tough on crime and public corruption. I voted for him in 2008 and will vote for him again in 2012.

  5. Michele Says:

Our county needs a State Attorney who will fight against public corruption. Michael has been a leader in that fight. He works well with Law Enforcement officials and has a record of bringing corrupt public officials to justice.

  6. Bob Says:

Anyone but the egomaniacal McAuliffe!! He needs to go – malicious prosecution and McAuliffe go hand in hand. He’s forgotten what justice is supposed to be about.

  7. Really? Says:

Aronberg as SA – really? When was the last time he ever tried a case. Come on… get real. Don’t get me wrong, I like the guy, but he is not qualified to be State Attorney.

  8. Another Career Politician… Says:

Does Aronberg really want to be State Attorney? The guy has bounced from one elected position to another. Aronberg is looking for his next paycheck. The last thing we need is another career politician.

  9. Democratic Insider Says:

Why would Aronberg leave his job now. Dave is doing well working with Bondi on busting the Pill Mills. Plus, I dont think he should challenge a sitting democrat for an office he really doesn’t want. We need to work together to win in 2012, not have party infighting. You are doing good now Aronberg – why ruin it??

  10. Jeff S. Says:

They want Aronberg to replace Michael because Aronberg can be bought and Michael can’t.

What is wrong want Gannon’s job and get the little kid to take over because you are scared Michael is going to put you where you belong…in jail.

    Tell Robert we say hello!
