Scott appointee quits before Senate committee probe into sex scandal
by Dara Kam | February 22nd, 2011Carl Littlefield, Gov. Rick Scott’s pick to head the Agency for Persons with Disabilities, unexpectedly withdrew his name from consideration last night, the eve before he was slated to face an inquiry about his handling of a sex scandal in Hillsborough County.
Littlefield was to appear at 9 a.m. this morning before the Senate Children, Families and Elder Affairs Committee where chairwoman Ronda Storms was expected to question him about his role in overseeing a group home for the developmentally disabled that allegedly permitted residents to have sex with each other.
Littlefield was the area administrator in charge of overseeing the group home in Seffner.

Of course, those adult people are not allowed to have any type of sexual expression and are incapable of engaging in consensual sexual activities

So why was funding to Planned Parenthood cut by USA House vote? So why did President Obama over turn Bush-era medical providers “conscience rules”?

Rick is a criminal so why is it so difficult to believe he would hire criminals.

Never underestimate the stupidity of Florida voters, we now have a Guv who cheated the feds out of millions of dollars and had to take the fifth 82 times in a deposition. We get what we vote for.

Very vague article. I am assuming these are adults. Why shouldn’t they be allowed to have sex with each other?

I am certainly no fan of this Governor by any means and in fact I hate his guts, but I don’t see a problem with developmentally disabled people having sex if they want to. There is no law banning such activity even if they are living together in a group home. I do see how a Conservative Republican might have a problem defending his position to another so called conservative republican though. Because allowing people who are wards of the state and who are mentally and financially unable to raise a child, to engage in activity that might result in the birth of a child which would also become a ward of the state would constitute another burden on the state. And since these same people do not believe in birth control he would just get beat up and kicked to the curb anyway. It’s better to just let the nomination pass.

To be consistent the agency head and all personnel at DCF that dealt with the Bohana case should resign as well.
In fact any of you Scott haters out there should call for the resignation of any bureaucrat that makes mistakes or doesn’t exercise complete and detailed oversight of their departments.
To be consistent of course.

They may have been developmentally disabled, but they were happy! The Agency for the Developmentally Disabled took some of the biggest cuts in Mr. Scott’s proposed budget. Maybe Mr. Littlefield realized he was recommended to head an agency that was set up to fail. Oh wait, privatize their care so Mr. Scott’s businesses can make more money.
