Scott inaug – putting Maryland to work
by Dara Kam | January 4th, 2011Gov. Rick Scott inaugural speech centered almost entirely on creating jobs.
And for at least one Maryland company, he’s true to his word.
Scott’s inaugural team contracted with Hargrove Inc., a Lanham, Md.-based event planning business, to handle the outdoor set-up for his swearing-in ceremony.
Maryland’s unemployment rate is a paltry 7 percent compared to Florida’s 12 percent, the fourth-highest in the nation.
Meanwhile, Scott has put a temporary halt on all regulation-making that he says is keeping the Sunshine State’s businesses from flourishing.

I thought he wanted to put Floridians back to work, yet he hired a Maryland company to do the event planing. I guess no one in the State of Florida could have done it.

Did he say put Floridians to work? Must have been one of those jobs that Floridians didn’t want.

All those who make less than $1,000,000 per year and voted for this guy will come to regret their decision.

I was there. It was my 10th such circus. If he paid for it, then he got screwed. It could have been done by the local little theater and it probably would have been better.

I guess there were no capable event planners in FL.This is just the start of something bad!

There is only two kinds of Floridians “retired or retarded.” So obviously he had to get help from out of state! He’ll do fine! He will bring prosperity to Florida! If it was already here he could have hired from within the state! Jobs will be moving to Florida and prosperity will come! The retired and retards will just have to move over!

So, obviously you’re not retired…

Wait, did everyone think he meant “let US get to work”? I guess you all just misunderstood him.

If you remember, he spent $125,000 on a recruitment effort and didn’t find ANYONE who wanted to work for/with him. Maybe none of Florida’s event planners wanted to work for him either.
