Robo Rudy makes calls for Bondiby Andrew Abramson | October 28th, 2010
Sarah Palin-backed Attorney General candidate Pam Bondi is receiving help from another national Republican in a tight race against Dan Gelber.
Beginning today, Florida voters will receive a recorded message from former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani, encouraging them to vote for Bondi, a Tampa area prosecutor.
Here’s a transcript of the message:
“Hello, this is Mayor Rudy Giuliani, and I’m calling to ask you to vote for Pam Bondi for Attorney General.
“Pam Bondi has been a respected, career prosecutor for 20 years and has a well-earned reputation for being tough on crime and committed to protecting all Floridians.
“That’s why Pam Bondi has been endorsed by 35 Florida sheriffs and former sheriffs, the Fraternal Order of Police, and the Florida Police Chiefs.
“If you believe like me that there is nothing more important than the safety of our country and of Florida, then you will join me in supporting Pam Bondi for Attorney General on Tuesday, November 2nd. Thank you and have a great day.”
While Giuliani’s robo call highlights some of Bondi’s law enforcement endorsements, opponent Gelber — a State Senator from Miami Beach and former federal prosecutor — has been endorsed by the Florida Police Benevolent Association and the South Florida Council of Fire Fighters.
