Florida Crystals boss plans fundraiser for Scott
by Michael C. Bender | September 3rd, 2010
Four weeks after Rick Scott blasted the state’s plan for Everglades restoration as a “bailout” for U.S. Sugar, the head of that company’s top rival will host a $10,000-per-head fundraiser for the Republican gubernatorial nominee.
Florida Crystals executive José “Pepe” Fanjul and his wife, Emilia, will host the event at their Palm Beach home on Sept. 14. For a $10,000 check made payable to the Republican Party of Florida, you can get into the VIP reception.
After spending $50 million of his own money on the primary, Scott is looking to the special interests he has blasted from the campaign trail to help pay for his race against Democrat Alex Sink and to help replenish the state party’s low reserves.
Now referring to the political establishment as “statesmen,” Scott held a fundraiser at the Associated Industries of Florida office in Tallahassee this morning with some of the state’s top lobbyists. He has another money event this afternoon at the Johnson Blanton firm, which lobbies for Bank of America, Florida Power & Light, Florida Crystals and a host of health care companies.

Ah, democrats have their special interest groups, too! And they contribute headily.
Alex Sink isn’t above accepting an $8 million package when she left her executive position at Bank of America.

Sink accepted tons of special interest money from the unions, trial lawyers and emilys list. I guess those special interests dont count for the Palm Beach post.

Yes we all know about how Rick Scott is a phony and so is Alex Sink. Take some time to inform voters on their other alternatives in the race like Michael E. Arth and Farid Khavari, who have more legitimate and competent platforms than the big money candidates, but get no attention from journalists because they don’t take nor have the big money to pollute our mailboxes and airwaves with ads. This is where the press’ responsibility to inform must come in.

Um, at least Sink didn’t give herself a golden parachute after defrauding millions of taxpayers out of billions of dollars, and then turned around and tried to buy the Governorship with that stolen money.
Egregious.
Scott is campaigning for Governor so he can pardon himself from any further investigation you dopes.
WAKE UP!

Disgusting. The Fanjuls live here in our backyard and they are the creepiest, most corrupt people in the state. What is Rick Scott thinking cozying up to them?

Wait until Jebbie introduces Rick Scot to Mori and Forough Hosseini so they can give Rick a little token contribution so they’ll own him when they need him! Where’s Penny Pritzner? She’s everyone’s friend right to Obammy! They will all come out of the woodwork likes puppy dogs to link the hand of the man that can help them!

Please explain how “accepting” your pension, etc. when you retire from a company where you have worked for years is in anyway the same as doing something illegal. Alex Sink got her retirement payments long before she ran for office in Florida.

Ha ha ha ha haaaa ok? And? Why would anyone pay $10,000 to get into a party when we all know how Republican parties are? Boooorrrriiiiinnnngggg…..AND the greedy, cheap Republicans are all broke so they won’t even pay the $ anyway. Karma is SO good.

wait so now Republicrooks want to decry Sink receving money she earned at her job for being successful? Sounds like pathetic Communist rhetoric if you ask me.
