Scott, Haridopolos, Cannon plan unity tour
by Michael C. Bender | August 27th, 2010UPDATE: Scott’s campaign sent out details for three “unity events” on Monday, but didn’t include details about who would be there. There is a “meeting with statesmen” in Tampa. Could those be some of the “Tallahassee insider” who were “crying in their cocktails” on Tuesday?
Here’s the schedule: 9:30 a.m., meeting with statesmen, University Club of Tampa; 2 p.m., Tampa unity event, Tampa Jet Center (tentative); 6 p.m., Orlando unity event, Marks Street Senior Center.
Sounds like the details are still being hammered out, but watch for Republican gubernatorial nominee Rick Scott to announce a multi-day tour of the state early next week with the incoming GOP Senate and House bosses, Mike Haridopolos and Dean Cannon.
(You might remember Cannon and Haridopolos from this statewide fly-around a couple weeks ago. At this point, the tour will be missing Bill McCollum, sort of an important component for the whole unity thing…)
Scott initiated a conference call with the two former McCollum men on Thursday after he had a sit-down with Republican Party of Florida Chairman John Thrasher and a phone conversation with Republican Governor’s Association Chairman Haley Barbour, who diverted his Mississippi-to-Orlando flight on Tuesday after results showed Scott pulling off the upset.
We also hear a number of lobbyists and other high-ranking Republicans showed up at Scott’s Fort Lauderdale headquarters on Wednesday and Thursday hoping to play the broker in Scott’s group-hug with the GOP establishment.
Scott didn’t go for it, instead relying on his background as a mergers-and-acquisitions attorney and venture capitalist to negotiate his own path through the next two months.

McColllum should stop acting like a spoiled brat and get onboard. This is one of the reasons he lost…attitude.
Adelade Alex Sink is Florida’s Nancy Pelosi.
We don’t need a Pelosi in Tallahassee signing onto agreements that restrict and regulation everyone and everything.
Sink = spending and taxation and buy-in to Obama’s policies.
Can we afford Obama’s EPA rulings. Are we in control of the water flowing from Georgia into FL? Hell, no, but FL is responsible for it. Georgia is not penalized for the water they pollute.
NO to SINK as a matter of fact, Sink, SINK.

At least we “know” Rick Scott’s transgressions, Cannon and Haridopolos are”hidden”.
Don’t trust’em Rick, I voted for you because you were not the establishment.
Don’t disappoint me now.

The Three Stooges, I guess we know which one is Curly. Yuk, Yuk, Yuk.
Somebody better get a few Phone Books for Haridopolos to stand on when standing next to Scott. Haridopolos is like a tiny Disney character, except evil.

Its about time the feds speed up this supposed to be investigation of all the RPOF credit cards and illegal money laundrying. We need to know who the real crooks are now! Not after they have signed on with Rick Scott or been elected to the senate (Charlie Crist).
Anyone with a little life experiences can pick out these crooks a mile away when they are speaking! CharLIE and Sink both do the same room scan with their eyes when they are talking! they want to see if they are saying the right thing to the crowd! Smoke and mirrors, lying and stealing from the public coffers and giving to their crooked friends! Thats the Crist, McCollum, Greer, Sansom, Cannon, Haripoulas, AND SINK WAY! Now lets get some public information on the public thefts of our money out to a public media that will disclose it! The lame stream media will not report any public corruption or scandals by our elected and annointed elite!

What a sad day for the Republican Party. Haridopolis who used to be a small government guy has gradually fallen prey to the powers that be. First it was the $1 cigarette tax after pledging not to raise taxes, then it was SunRail and now he is trying to erase his biting comments he made about Scott. Mike Haridopolis, you have become an unprincipled sellout.
Republicans have no choice but to leave the Party in search of a party of principle most in line with their value system – clearly the Republican Party has failed them.
