Reports: Bud Chiles dropping independent bid for governor

The St. Pete Times and News Service of Florida are reporting that Bud Chiles is dropping his independent bid for governor.

Polls show that Chiles, the son of Lawton “Bud” Chiles — the last Democrat elected governor, was pulling votes almost equally from the two main party nominees, Democrat Alex Sink and Republican Rick Scott.

But many strategists predicted Chiles would be the most trouble for Sink. Chiles hinted last week that he would end his campaign if he was not a “viable” candidate. A Rasmussen poll last week showed Chiles with 4 percent of the vote.

  1. Deb Says:

Couldn’t suck the votes away from Sink.

That’s why he’s going, wonder if she wins if Chiles will get an appointment.

    Political dynasties are not good.

No to democrat and republican dynasties.

And NO to Adelade ‘Alex’ Sink. She’ll sign Florida up for regional Cap and Trade(READ that TAX) restrictions.

Florida can NOT afford Alex Sink as governor.

    She’ll be Florida’s Nancy Pelosi.

  2. Sheri12 Says:

I’m glad that Chiles will drop his candidacy. My husband and I support Alex Sink for Governor!

  3. ELC Says:

Well Thank You Bud. Just when I decided
to give you my vote you up and decide to
blow us Independents off. Well I certaintly will remember that if you ever decide to run again. All laughing
aside-this state is in sad shape when this is the best they can put up. I have no respect for the Republicans who
are now cozing up with Valdemort(aka
Rick Scott)or that witch Alex Sink. Well
*****them both, I’m out of here.

  4. matt Says:

    Dear Mr. Blogger,

In the latest Rasmussen poll Bud received 8%, not 4% as you mention. Please correct your blog and check you facts more closely going forward.

    Thanks

  5. Caveman Says:

So who do I vote for? Who’s the Green Party candidate?

  6. brigitte Says:

Chiles probably never meant to run. You know how politics is. As for Alex “The Chin” Sink, she’s not going to make it. Its written in the stars that Rick Scott will be the Governor of Fla.

  7. Curtis Lavarello Says:

Alex Sink is now doubt the best choice for Florida’s next Governor. Mr. Chiles did the honorable thing by dropping out of this race and clearing the way for Sink. This race is really a no-brainer. Mr. Scott has already demontrated how low he will sink to win. His failing to agree to debate Ms. Sink is a clear indication he knows his past will surface.

  8. RealAngst Says:

Of the two, Sink works best for me. Anyone who thinks that Rick Scott (another crook and SCUMBAG who already ripped off Florida Taxpayers) is the answer, clearly does not understand the question.

  9. brigitte Says:

Rick Scott is unstoppable. He’s going to be Florida’s next governor. Sink? Lol. She’s sure gonna sink.
