Mosques, Jim Greer and the fear: Rick Scott’s closing argument

by Michael C. Bender | August 17th, 2010

Last week we showed you Bill McCollum’s closing argument (here and here) for Republican gubernatorial primary voters.

Meanwhile, Rick Scott’s campaign tells us their actual “closing argument” ad has not been dropped, but that final pitch is coming into focus. Above are the three new ads he’s released in the past five days and spending $4 million to air on TV this week. The messages: Don’t fear Rick Scott, McCollum is the insider and Scott is against Muslim fanatics and President Obama.

“Obama’s Mosques” – what garbage. I’m a Christian. I’m not soft on Muslim fanatics by any means. But to expect a President to publically state he is for or against a house of worship being built for any religion is beyond the pale. The law of these United States stipulates that No religion shall be promoted or discouraged by the US government. All the President said was that it was their right to build, being in compliance with the law. What would you have him do? Make a statement in violation of the law?

Reuben: I absolutely agree with you. My main aggravation is how we Americans are suppose to be tolerant (most of us are about practicing other’s religions)but yet, this specific group is being everything but tolerant and empathetic about the location of the “mosque”. This specific group is anything but tolerant and empathetic towards others feelings and to me, shows that this is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to this specific group’s wants.

That does it. Rick Scott is the new Sarah Palin without the fake boobs. This rant on the Moslem’s is last months Sarah Palin crap. Can’t Rick Scott think? At all? No.

The U.S. News is finally catching up with Sarah’s trashing of the Moslems site. This also applies to our future Medicare Care Fraud Specialist future Governor Rick Scott.

Here is a short clip from that article by John Farrell: But Palin is nothing if not about “feeling.” She appeals not to logic, but emotion. To the gut, not the brain. She is one self-indulgent and excitable woman. And in her histrionics over the construction of an Islamic cultural center, two blocks from the site of the 9/11 attacks, she has demonstrated, once again, why she is unsuited for high office.
