How much different is Bill McCollum’s post-primary pout than 2004?
by Michael C. Bender | August 31st, 2010Bill McCollum appears no closer to uniting behind Republican gubernatorial candidate Rick Scott than he was last week.
Some have compared it to the 2004 Republican U.S. Senate primary, when Bill McCollum waited two weeks to endorse fellow Republican Mel Martinez. Back then, McCollum was upset about Martinez’s decision to run an ad calling McCollum “the new darling of the extreme homosexuals.”
But apparently dropping outlandish campaign ads (the attack related to McCollum’s support of a hate crimes bill) is not a reflection of character or integrity.
Here’s what McCollum told WESH in Orlando over the weekend:
“I never had any questions raised either before or after the election about Mel’s integrity or honesty or character, and I’ve had those questions raised about Rick Scott and they were raised very seriously. And it’s not something that would just idle in the campaign.
“There are still questions that are out there, I think unanswered questions that trouble me a great deal from his past, particularly at Columbia/HCA.”

Then US Rep Bill McCollum sang a different tune when the Clinton/Janet Reno gestapo retaliated against hospitals nationwide alleged “fraud” filing Medicare claims…even introduced a bill that would clean up the thousands of pages of really dumb regs!!
Several of McCollum’s quotes from that period are on Rick Scott’s website…the PBP has read every word and would have cried foul IF even one passage was incorrect!!
Bill McCollum also praised Republicans passage of MMA2003 that totally modernized Medicare claims handling. The sluicegate of 48 “fiscal intermediaries” – with as many as 2 claims agents on Part A and 2 more on Part B – were eliminated. 15 Medicare Admin. Contractors were in place before Bush left office – District 9 covers Florida’s 3.4 million Seniors with over a 1,000 employee in Jacksonville.
Kathleen Sebelius held up the last 4 MAC’s contracted – because she still could legally – for a year!! Her 20 page November, 2009 Medicare Executive Summary still referred to the old 48 “fiscal intermediaries” replaced six years ago – that is what she provided Congress to discuss BARAMAcare??
The PBP has not interviewed or carried a single news item on Rick Scott nor Marco Rubio since they won their GOP primaries a week ago…strange doings for a large metro newspaper in Florida – so much for looking out for the communities they …. fail to serve!!

Ron Klein is a democrat mama’s boy. The guy never served in the military forces, but continues to demean a man who has served his country.
Klein’s attacks are PERSONAl. Does Klein talk about ObamaCare which he VOTED for? (Klein didn’t even APPEAR at a town hall meeting but CALLED in…per Nancy Pelosi’ direction-it was a way to ‘avoid’ those citizens who showed up to question.
Does Klein talk about the Stimulus which has left our children in debt?
That’s the kind of guy Klein is. He’s a Nancy Pelosi wearing a pants. A real mama’s boy.

Frank, what does that have to do with this article. And, let’s see, your boy George, the Village Idiot, vs Al Gore. But that’s okay, he only went AWOL while protecting Texass from the Viet Cong.
McCollum supported Martinez ’cause they were both in the loop republicons. Scott isn’t.

Wow, corrupt greedy health care billionaires with their Republican thug partners have made health care a tool to make obscene wealth and not ease the pain of suffering of our people. McCollum is right about corrupt Scott.

TO: V
The National Opinion Research Center at the University of Chicago, sponsored by a consortium of major U.S. news organizations (NY Times, Wash Post, CNN, even the Palm Beach Post and more) conducted a comprehensive review of all ballots uncounted (by machine) in the Florida 2000 presidential election, both undervotes and overvotes. They counted these using the standards set forth by the Gore Campaign…
Conclusion: Bush still won
LOOK IT UP Just don’t be a blind KoolAid drinker… LOOK IT UP FOR YOURSELF!!!!

I DONT BLAME MCCCOLLUM. These politicians run all these attacks ads against each other, demonizing the each other, and making all these false accusations. Then everyone expects you to play nice, because your in the same party after the election. What he is doing is what most politicians should do, act human. Yes Mccollum ran some himself, but only in response. And he never had the money Rick Snot had.

@Brother David – Um, look at the archives. McCollum launched a negative, attack CAMPAIGN. Rick responded with a few negative ADS. Now that McCollum’s ego is bruised he keeps repeating the same Columbia/HCA tune that lost him the primary. Man up, suck it up, take one for the team and keep it moving. Scott isn’t the devil, he isn’t this picture of secrecy that McCollum continues to perpetuate. Get over it, Bill – you lost. The people have spoken now it’s time to rally behind Rick and get him in the Governor’s mansion.

I don’t think he’s pouting; it’s the way he looks because he has no chin or spine.

I don’t think he’s pouting; it’s the way he looks because he has no chin. Bill, you’re getting cranky and I think you need a vacation; let me call someone to carry your luggage.

Bush?????
I was talking about Bush’s service record in rebuttal to Franks rant about Klein’s vs Allen’s.
Take a reading comprehension course, okay.

I’m hoping he sticks to his guns. Please tell me some Republican has a few morals. By the way, we would have been saved from Bush had the 27,000 votes thrown out in the poor black areas of Jacksonville been counted. If Jeb had not been governor and W’s
florida campaign manager been in charge of the Florida election, the Duval County election supervisor would have beeen prosecuted for his misdeads.
