Did GOP primary voters decide Scott’s no fraud?
by Michael C. Bender | August 30th, 2010From the Associated Press today:
There’s a word Republicans are no longer using when they talk about gubernatorial nominee Rick Scott: fraud.
Many in the Republican establishment backed Attorney General Bill McCollum in the primary as McCollum repeatedly pointed out Scott was CEO of Columbia/HCA when it settled criminal Medicare fraud charges by paying $1.7 billion.
But on Monday, the Republican establishment stood with Scott and touted him as a business leader that would create jobs.
Scott was with state lawmakers and party leaders at a unity rally in front of less than 100 people.
Asked about the whether he’ll be able to shake the fraud argument in the general election, Scott said, “It didn’t work for Bill McCollum.”

Sometimes voters can separate campaign rhetoric from reality, and this is one of those times. Rick Scott represents the successful financial management experience that government lacks. People without baggage probably never accomplished anything either. Four years of Scott has to be better than any of the alternatives, including keeping Charlie. Bye bye to all of them, and good riddance.

The Republicans are real phony now and to me they are backing a real loser. If
this is the best they can do than they
do not deserve the Governorship. As an
Independent-the only one I’ll vote for
is Bud Chiles. Not that I love him its
that I am disgusted with all who are
running and I’d rather throw my vote
than vote for these idiots.

It didn’t work for McCollum because Republicans think anybody with money is somehow automatically a saint. Fortunately Democrats and most Independents aren’t so gullible.

Independent who, if the election were held today, would vote for Democrat Sink just to stop the ugly BS that the FL Republican legislature thinks is good for all Floridians.

And I for one hope he does not let these snake oil salesmen take him in! The problem with good hearted people like Rick is they are sometimes too tructing and are always ready to give everyone the benefit of a doubt! Let me tell you Florida’s culture of corruption orgainizers would make Al Capone look like a choir boy! If he gives them half a chance he willbe dancing to a tune played by none other than Jebbie orchastra and the director will be Karl Rove! Rick if you see some dude walking around toting one of those small white chalk boards, run like hell!

No, they decided McCollum was.

I’m a Republican, but there’s no way I’m voting for Scott. “Successful financial management”!?! His company defrauded taxpayers of billions of dollars. Either Scott is really crooked or he’s a terribly bad executive. Given his financial success, I’m leaning against him being a terribly bad executive.
I don’t know if I’ll vote for Sink yet or not.

IF Mike Bender was anything but a hack Marxist propagandist on order from Randy Schultz to deomonize anything Republican…he might actually have investigated and reported the facts on Rick Scott…and Marco Rubio!!
Rick Scott’s website provides details of the Clinton prosecutorial misconduct against anyone other than the Doctors who support progressive Democrats…we can only conclude every single item on that website is 100% accurate as Bender read every word, vetted against every source and could do nothing but insinutate in his newshole Op Eds!!
Do you blame Rick Scott for HCA hospital fines from 1987 to 1994 – before Scott’s Columbia bought them?? Johns Hopkins, Mayo Clinic, etc. all were “fined” alleging fraud. The totals collected were around 3% of the $100 Billion commonly accepted as Medicare Waste, Fraud and Abuse — every dollar of WFA is a Doctor treating, prescribing, labbing, clinicing, hospitalizing, rehabbing, home healthing, etc. No Doctors were prosecuted or fined — they did get additional Clinton $$ as Plan C HMO’s for Seniors closed shop as their $$ were slashed in retaliation for fighting BillaryCare!!
Final Proof: MMA 2003 reformed the thousands of sloppy claim handling regs using 48 “fiscal intermediaries” that slopjarred Medicare billings…15 Medicare Admin Contractors are now responsible for single payor professional claim adjudication!!!
More importantly, Rick Scott did for hospital efficiencies what WalMart has done for lowering Generic Drug pricing…his Columbia/HCA had 36% with the highest quality standard awarded with an average cost $200 below even Church Non-Profits. Americans saved $tens of Billions$$ because Rick Scott made private enterprise capitalism work!!
