UPDATED VIDEO: Bill McCollum has ‘serious questions’ about Rick Scott’s integrity
by Michael C. Bender | August 26th, 2010From Attorney General Bill McCollum this morning on Republican gubernatorial nominee Rick Scott:
“I still have serious questions and I have had them throughout the time that I’ve had the very brief acquaintanceship with Rick Scott about issues of his character, his integrity, his honesty, things that go back to Columbia/HCA,” McCollum said.

Scott spearheaded opposition to the new health care plan because he owns a chain of health care centers that would benefit from people who don’t have coverage and so have to pay full price? Sleazy.

I have ’serious questions’ about Bill McCollum’s integrity. Look no further than the hiring of George Reker as Bill’s hand picked expert for the Florida adoption hearings. $120,000 pays for one heck of a massage, Bill.

This is why Scott needs to apologize to taxpayers and seniors.
Just say it publicly Scott:
“I was in charge. I didn’t know what my people were doing. I should have. It was my fault. I’m sorry.”
Then back it up with a meaninguful act of contrition–like writing a $30 million personal check to either the U.S. Treasury or to the State of Florida (if you don’t trust the Feds)
It you can’t demonstrate such humility and repentance, you will show McCollum was right about you.

F.U. McCollum !!!!! You deserved to loose you !@#$ Your just bitter
August 26th, 2010 at 11:24 am
A career politician questioning the integrity of another politician … well isn’t that just the pot calling the kettle black.
August 26th, 2010 at 11:26 am
I have serious questions about Bill McCollum’s character, honesty and integrity. It must be hard for him to realize he now actually has to make an honest living.
I guess McCollum is taking a page from the Jeb Bush School of “Running Your Mouth and Trying to Run the Government Your Gone.”
Shut-up Bill! Nobody cares what you think. You lost now get a life.

Tired of voting for the lesser of two evils (both of which are still evil)? Vote third party. Check out Michael Arth, who is running as an independent for Governor. We need to break the two-party system.

McCollum exhibits poor sportsmanship. He lost, and he hates losing. What has been lost in most of the reporting is that Scott has no previous political experience. That is what the Tea Party/Palin movement loves (note Pam Bondi for attorney general and Joe Miller in Alaska). Tea Party members defy the polls because they vote 100% while other groups turn out only a smaller percentage. Professional observers still can’t grasp the Tea Party mystique although they keep winning elections.

In a race between Scott and McCollum, who is the “outsider”? Scott made a fortune from government spending on health care, including spending in response to . McCollum is a career politician who has never shown a talent for anything except self-promotion. Florida would be better off if both men left the state permanently.
August 26th, 2010 at 11:47 am
Cut from the Crist cloth, I am sure, now, he wishes he had run as an independent. Sore loser, be gone!
August 26th, 2010 at 11:49 am
The FL repub. party cann’t stand it that Scott won while their hand picked boy didn’t. After all it was “his turn”. They better learn that the people are fed up with seconds. If Scott turns out to be a lemon vote him out next time.
August 26th, 2010 at 11:55 am
Obviously the voters had a bigger problem with McCollum’s integrity. Because HE LOST!
August 26th, 2010 at 11:56 am
Do you people still not get it.
They are BOTH corrupt.
Why does a Billionaire spend 30 million to be elected to a Job that pays $160 thousand dollar a year?????
Either way, whoever wins is corrupt and will stick it to the people of Florida and will vote ONLY on behalf of Corporations and Lobbyst.
You have lost your Democratic Republic and unless you are prepared for a REVOLUTION and take control of your Government.
Your al going to be jobless, homeless and competing for jobs with Illegal Aliens.
How does that taste.
You set and never protested ANYTHING, now your losing your country, your way to make a living and your FREEDOMS.
HOW DOES IT FEEL

Rick Scott is a crook, plain and simple. The Repub-lickins don’t mind backing a crook, it runs in the Party
August 26th, 2010 at 11:58 am
If Rick is so concerned about giving the people lower health care costs. Ask him how much did the profit majors dropped when he took over his pass hospitals. Did his company reduce the amount of money they where skimming off of sick and dieing people? This guy is a reaper of the sick. And has no place trying to stand up and speak for the people. He walked on the backs of enough of us to get where he is today. Vote for the independent Chris. His pass actions shows he is willing to stand on the people’s side more than parties/corporations side. The split in this country between the people, corporations and the two political parties is growing fast. And it appears both parties don’t care about that. So vote for “I” this time around!
August 26th, 2010 at 12:00 pm
Poor Bill Now he has to get a REAL JOB. Good luck with that. Bad loser. Get used to this career politicians. WE the PEOPLE are not going to take it any longer.
August 26th, 2010 at 12:12 pm
What a joke McCollum!! You I’m sure have enough in State money to continue to live off the tax payers dime for alot of years!! Although your probably have to buy a car now, seeing you won’t be able to fly to your house any more!! Get lost crook!!!! Fla has had enough of the same crap from you!! You run for any office! How about dog catcher
August 26th, 2010 at 12:32 pm
Hey McCollum – YOU LOST GET OVER IT! Don’t try to take the high road either because you are just as crooked as Scott and a bigger flip-flopper than McCain with your policies. The vast majority of politicians are crooks, the secret is finding a crook who at least you agree with their policies. McCollum was dead against Arizona’s immigration policy till he realized it had great support here in FL, then all of a sudden he was it’s biggest supporter. YOU SCUMBAG GO GET A REAL JOB NOW…
August 26th, 2010 at 12:33 pm
Bill McCollum is a crook and maybe Rick Scoot is too. But Rick gots my vote because of illegal immgration. Which Old Billy boy flip as soon as he notice that what we want here. And I am not voting for any of the good old boys that back McCullum either. Thats Huckleberry and newt Gingrich. These are just professional crooks that love to screw us over.
August 26th, 2010 at 12:52 pm
If I were McCollum, I wouldn’t endorse Rick Scott, either. Apparently, ethics don’t mean much to some voters these days. McCollum did a good job as AG and ran a scandal-free organization. I would say the same thing about Alex Sink, although I disagree with her politics.
I recently talked with a former HCA executive who came in after Scott had left. He was shocked that Florida would even consider electing Scott to public office given the facts of his tenure there.
I haven’t decided if I’m going to vote for Alex Sink, sit this one out or just write-in Jeb Bush. But I can’t in good faith support a man that defrauded taxpayers.
August 26th, 2010 at 12:58 pm
Politicians still don’t get it, the silent majority is silent no longer. We are fed up with all the crap they are trying to force on us, and Nov 2 is going to be a wakeup call they can’t ignore. You want to get elected? NO to manditory health care, NO to illigals, NO to tax increases, NO to flipflopping, this aint rocket science.
August 26th, 2010 at 1:06 pm
McCollum lost? Probably like most politicians he’ll still go off and make millions…case in point: Sarah Palin
Either way, they still win. Funny though, how Scott’s party still refuses to support him. THE MESSAGE IS LOUD AND CLEAR PEOPLE…even Republicans don’t trust him. What more do you need to hear before deciding he won’t be your next Governor???
August 26th, 2010 at 1:24 pm
Anyone in the GOP who thinks Scott will win in the genreal is delusional! His Medicare fraud history(seniors) and his anti-immigration support(hispanics) virtually ensures this. The angry white curmudgeon is a dying breed in FL.
August 26th, 2010 at 1:58 pm
So McCollum thinks the Democrats can do a better job?
You’re an idiot to knock your own party. Who do you think you are?
August 26th, 2010 at 1:58 pm
McCollum is the typical Tallahassee politician who has been in public service much to long and allow the northerners to take over what we won in the Civil War.
August 26th, 2010 at 2:01 pm
Or maybe the voters just want you to go away Mr. McCollum. Ever consider that?
August 26th, 2010 at 2:06 pm
*** BILL McCOLLUM STOLE THE USE OF STATE AIR TRAVEL AT TAXPAYER EXPENSE AND LIED ON TAPE ABOUT ARIZONA AND HE IS QUESTIONING SCOTT? ROFLMAO! BILL McCOLLUM, YOU ARE A SORE LOSER! FYI THE PEOPLE ARE TAKING THEIR POLITICS BACK FROM YOU POLITICAL HACKS AND WE’D RATHER HAVE NEW FACES RUNNING THE SHOW! OUT WITH THE INCUMBENTS! ***
August 26th, 2010 at 6:52 pm
Don’t fool yourself people.Bill McCollum is just as corrupt as anyone else in government and politics. That’s why as Attorney General he did
August 26th, 2010 at 8:27 pm
Bill McCollum did not lose. Risk Scott was not elected by the majority of the party electors. Mike McCallister unexpectedly received 10 percent of the vote because people mistook McCallister for McCollum. So now what you have is a Republican party giving birth to a baby it did not want, it allowed the baby to live by mistake, and being anti-abortion does not know if to give it up for adoption or pretend the baby is someone else’s baby.
August 26th, 2010 at 8:31 pm
F.Y.I, Mike McCallister was the third name listed in the Republican primary in the governor’s race, the one you weren’t sure if he was the one you were told to vote for by your husband or if it was the other Mc guy. Now you know!

All Scott did was insure that Florida will get a Dem Gov. I happen to like Alex and wish her well. I am sure she will be a fine Gov. On the brighter side, if Rubio happens to beat Crist, when she appoints Rubios replacement, it will be someone who is more even keel than Rubio. His indictment cant be that far away!

ALEX SINK SUNK $250 MILLION OF OUR FLORIDA MONEY TO A BANK OF AMERICA COMPANY FOR THEIR NEW YORK CITY APARTMENT DEAL AND LOST OUR MONEY! SHE IS A STOCKHOLDER IN BOA! IS THIS FRAUD OR INSIDER DEALINGS LIKE MARTHA STEWART WENT TO JAIL FOR?
Alex Sink sits on the Florida board that invests public money bet $266,780,948. million on a huge Manhattan real estate deal and lost every last penny of it.
