Losing to Richard Nixon in that tainted election is a badge of honor.

I voted for McGovern and I am glad he did not win. He was a weak man, like Obama and he would not have stood up to the Communists just like Obama does not stand up to the Islamic fascists.

McGovern a weak man?
You Lie!
George McGovern served in the Eight Air Force in WWII, flying 53 missions, and won The Distinguished Flying Cross. The man also has the traits of honesty, characture and decency; something that R.M. Nixon sorely lacked.
Josheph, you are a blithering idiot who would rather accept a demonization of Democrats then paint all such persons with a very broad brush.
Please do America a favor and leave.

Did anyone else notice how many young people there were last night? I mean we should give our respect to the “old guard” but the young people are the future.
Meek brought alot of people to help spread the word on his campaign, and many of them were young but I think maybe Rudy Moise, a congressional candidate in district 17 brought the most supporters. They were everywhere and in at least 3 meetings that I attended. This is really good for the growth of the party and I hope Moise wins because they obviously believe in him.

I met McGovern on a book tour in West Palm Beach in 1996. He was very kind gentleman. I enjoyed my visit with him.

Than you for noticing the young people James, though I would like to correct the attribution of where they came from…
Several chapters of the Florida Young Democrats as well as the College Democrats made concerted efforts to bring young people to the JJ this year, including my chapter, the Jacksonville Young Democrats, led by President Ryan Clarke, bringing nine YD’s, most at no or little cost to them. Thank you to Jeff Greene, Dan Gelber and Dave Aronberg for their contributions as well as a number of fantastic Jacksonville area Democrats that supported this effort.
