Republican gubernatorial candidate Rick Scott lists net worth at $219 million

by Michael C. Bender | June 18th, 2010

Rick Scott, a former health care executive, has already spent $15 million on television ads in the past two months. He lists his net worth in a financial disclosure filed today in order to officially qualify for the race.

Scott’s Republican primary opponent, Attorney General Bill McCollum, lists his net worth as $1.3 million.

Alex Sink, the expected Democratic nominee, says she’s worth $9.2 million.

I wonder how much he has in his off shore accounts. Probably 3 X’x that much

  2. Solen Doerst Says:

Rick Scott is just one more self-serving corporate hack without an original thought in his brain. Tired slogans without a hint of genuineness …and with a high “creep factor” (Think anorexic Uncle Fester.) Republican candidates need to figure out that hanging your hat on the Tea Party mantle is not winning over those of us who understand what it truly is to be conservative. I will not be won back from the Independent party until Republicans get away from the ilk of Rick Scott types who can hemorrhage money into a campaign but offer nothing new but tired slogans, and a corrupt corporate past.

  3. OBIWAN Says:

The Marxist Che Gueverra types cannot help themselves in their class warfare against the rich…..

Rick Scott took over 2 failing hospitals and a decade later had built Columbia/HCA into the nation’s largest 350 hospital group. Net patient charges were among the lowest, significantly below GOVT, Non-Profit, Church Related or other For Profit.

Rick Scott forced productivity gains, real time technology and integrated patient risk management to facilitate improved outcome measurements…

Democrats hate him for taking on BILLARYcare and defeating it soundly by showing it as the socialism it was!! Clinton retaliated by passing thousands of pages of unfathomable Medicare regulations, then charging hospitals with “claims fraud” and settling for under $5 Billion in total.

Remember, Clinton and BARAMA all agree Medicare Waste, Fraud and Abuse exceeds $100 Billion a year — and neither did anything to reduce that. Every single dollare of WFA begins life by a Doctor treating, testing, labbing, clinicing, prescribing, hospitalizing, rehabbing and home health caring!!!

The only hope for real was Medicare Modernization and Improvement Act or MMA 2003. Bush replaced the ineffective 48 “fiscal intermediaries” and “insurer claims agents” with 15 Medicare Administration Contractors to handle claims as professionally as insurers – as if it were their own money!!

Rick Scott was never questioned, interviewed, charged, detained or legally prosecuted in any way. His Board wanted to settle quietly, Rick Scott preferred to fight the GOVT for its abuse of Justice Dept persecution of private companies!!

Consider Rick Scott’s position on Arizona’s enforcement of Immigration violators detained for other criminal offenses — common sense and something we don’t have any of in Washington DC right now.

Someone will have to clean up the messes Charlie Crist is making of our state…

Rick Scott just might be that entrepreneur who more closely shares the values of the vast majority of Floridians.

Let’s face it…Bill McCollum has been a fine man, a good US House Rep…but he ain’t done squat as AG to enforce Immigration and Employment laws in Florida…sad to say, but just true.

Already McCollum has backed off his position FL doesn’t need AZ type enforcement. That is good – and Rick Scott forced his hand to do so!

  4. Mac Corruption Says:

So, where did Howdy Doody put all those millions he claims to have made as
a lobbist? I mean he’s still drawing his full salary from congress along with all of the perks they get for life. You know he doesn’t have to worry with the ObamaCare legislation. As a former but lifetime congressman he gets all the free perks. Also at his age he is double dipping and drawing that social security without having to give up any of it! this sucker is a leech of the highest eschalon! He’s worth $1.3 million. Hell he give his NYC apartment deal friends $250 million (10% split between McCollum, Crist and Sink = $25 million divided by 3 – $8,333 million + (thats 8.3 million plus) this don’t even count his kickback from Mori Hosseini for his part in that big taxpayer rip off. This corrupt sucker is hiding millions. Call Bill Clinton and get him to have Obama check out this McCollum corruption. I mean the shoe is on the other foot now!

  5. Who Is Running Interferrence for Crist Says:

Let your minds wonder back in time about 2-3 weeks ago when Jim Greer made a statement where he basically said he didn’t do anything without Charlie’s knowledge. Well everyone knows that’s a fact even before he said it. All you had to do was watch them! What gets me is even though Crist has thrown the entire RPOF and his old repub friends under the bus, Greer’s statement caused an immediate news block on all things Charlie. No more stories for bloggers to blog on. Even when Charlie met his friend Obama in the panhandle, no big stories. No opportunites for the media to question Charlie about his ties to the RPOF corruption scandal. Now we all know the RPOF could suddenly care less about Charlie Crist so who are they protection? No, its not Rubio! They are protecting Bill McCollum from the possible blogs and leaks concerning his connection at the hip with Greer and Charlie. What do you want to bet, Greer will also tell the feds Howdy Doody Mac was right in the middle of it all too! How can McCollum survive on his measley little $1.3 million net worth? Cause he got his hands in every taxpayers pocket, that’s how!

  6. Judith Howcroft Says:

Rick Scott was not questioned in the HCA fraud, (theft), case for two possible reasons. 1. HCA’s board had expelled Scott prior to the $1.7 BILLION settlement. 2. Scott was a former partner of George W. Bush. It is telling that he implies that he did not know what was going on relative to the fraudulant billing of goverment programs, but he was the one responsible for cutting costs.
His slogan: “Let’s get to work”, is a big farce considering a more recent settlement for discrimination. He instructed his new company that he wanted only “mainstream” employees, not old, fat, or those who speak with an accent. Good luck with that in Florida Mr. Scott.

  7. E Garcia Says:

He was the CEO, He’s reaponsible for such a fraud to all the taxpayers, How Can He explain the facts of having two (2) sets of financial record books, One with the real numbers He showed to his parners, And another one, The inflated one He used to overcharge the Medicare, And pocked all that extra money, That’s ROBBERY!!!
