Indie Crist could make Democratic condo inroads with bill signings

by George Bennett | June 7th, 2010

He no longer has the fund-raising and organizational might of a political party to help his Senate camapign, but Republican-turned-independent Gov. Charlie Crist has the ability to schedule bill-signing ceremonies before key groups.

With the help of Democratic state Rep. Maria Sachs and Sen. Jeremy Ring, Crist has been eyeing a tour of the Palm Beach-Broward Democratic condo belt to ceremonially sign a condominium reform bill. Events at Century Village of West Palm Beach and Wynmoor of Coconut Creek were penciled in last week before the Deepwater Horizon oil spill forced Crist to change plans. Sachs and Ring say the signings could be rescheduled for this week or next.

Read about it in this week’s Politics column, where you’ll also find out why one local lawmaker has earned the nickname “Joey Eleven” and where you can catch up on the congressional primary between two candidates who have been Democrats for six weeks.

  1. WWMD? Says:

Jeremy if you are going to make an endorsement, don’t take it away at the end, like you did with Barack. GO with Charlie and stay with him. He’s the best candidate to beat Marco.

  2. whasup Says:

So now we’ll see the incipient and unspoken racism in the Democratic condo set in southeast Florida.

Why don’t they support the Democrat Meek? Because he’s black. This will get ugly when word gets out and black voters repay these folks by not voting for the condo set’s preferred statewide candidates.

  3. Justice, don't forget ..... Says:

Hey “Justice.” Wasn’t “Judge” Berger reporting to County Commissioner Abrams in the Boca Raton office of RRA?

  4. whasup Says:

Senator Ring knows that Shucking Chuckles is not the kind of independent we need.

Cristo-Change-O is the self-serving, change with the current political breeze, windblow wafflebut, that makes most voters irate.

On the other hand, Ring knows what he believes, why he believes it, looks for the reality, and stands by the right thing to do, whether that fits with his party’s general views or not.

Ring’s kind of independence is what’s needed, not Cristo-Change-O’s.

CONDO BILL HAS A BIG LOOPHOLE IN IT! How do we control the boards with runaway spending if we cannot now know what our employees are paid. We have folks making almost 100k now and yard crew 50-60k. Are you kidding me? How can you put in a provision that members cannot know what we are paying people and their benefits and Bonus our association is still paying this year??

SO NOW these pompas board members will just say they are discussing employee stuff whenever they want to hide something from us in a meeting.

Nice going Crist. NOT voting for you now. WE NEEDED HELP CONTROLLING CONDO BOARDS AND SPENDING NOT MORE WAYS FOR THEM TO HIDE HOW THEY ARE ROBBING US.

Look at Wexler using dumber and dumber to do more dirty work while Deutch hides from addressing Obama and Israel.

Wendy- operative…told you Deutch had no balls. It’s his staff. The red head that worked for Wexler. This guy is a douche bag…….
