Republicans use portrait auction to paint Crist as an opportunist

by Michael C. Bender | May 3rd, 2010

cristportraitThe Florida Republican Party has put a portrait of Gov. Charlie Crist on eBay, hoping to recoup some of the cash it spent on the painting under former Chairman Jim Greer’s tenure.

Crist’s former party uses the auction to hammer the newly-independent U.S. Senate candidate as an unprincipled, poll-driven politician. Here’s their description of the painting:

★Canvas is naturally sensitive to changes of temperature and humidity, just as the Charlie Crist’s political convictions are subject to fluctuations in poll numbers.

★Depending upon variety of conditions, the stretch canvas may periodically lose and regain tautness, much like Charlie Crist periodically loosens or regains positions on a variety of issues.

★Ornate gold frame made of manufactured wood, similar to the fabricated conservative values of the politician depicted within.

Gee, they are over anxious to unload a
picture of Choo-Choo Charlie. He isn’t out of office yet and the Republicans
can’t wait to pawn off this lovely picture of the darling. Smart move.
Atleast, they don’t change their minds
as often as Choo Choo does-they took the
direct approach-put it on e-bay as fast
as possible. I am just wondering-what
idiot would want to buy it???

I lean republican, and loved what Crist has done for Florida and the “people”. The Republicans and Democrats have failed us.What this country needs most is a third party.Oh,,,One more thing,,,Term Limits for congress!! To many old timers in there,,,Some have held office for more than 40 years.Their dirty roots are dug in deep and they select people who will do their dasturdly deeds. Charlie Crist, has my vote!

With @charliecristfl transforming the political landscape, is he transforming the part in his hair?

The man decides to go with his gut (or maybe help his own political agenda) and the Republican party already is pawning his items. Is his desk still there or did they sell that too?
