Why Charlie Crist is a long shot to win the U.S. Senate

by Michael C. Bender | April 29th, 2010

The latest blog from Democrat Steven Schale, among the best number crunchers in Florida politics:

Here is why his challenge is so daunting:

Independents (18% of vote): 50% = 9 statewide points

Republicans (40% of vote): 35% = 14 statewide points

Democrats (42% of vote): 30% = 12.6 statewide points

Total= 35.6 %

Is that doable math? Sure. Is it a long shot? Absolutely. Here’s why.

Crist … What a PUPPET! Politician for sale.. CHEAP!
This guy will… DO….SAY…ANYTHING to get elected!
Why would you vote for this puppet? someone with NO MORALS, NO CONSCIENCE, NO CHARACTER… just insetr $ and get whatever you want from his puppet hole!

Crist is the main stream candidate in a three way with Meek an unknown and Rubio, the right wing extremist Tea Party candidate. Crist will win by a huge majority over both candidates. Can’t wait to see the commercial of Tea Party members at anti-health care rally screaming and insulting the old man laying in the street with Parkinson disease and Rubio’s photo. That captures the real Tea Party and what Rubio represents.

  5. V Says:

Crist is a puppet? Rubio is nothing but a political hack that follows every whim of the Bush crime syndicate. Watching his commercials is absolutely disgusting. His only goal is that of the neo-con facists that do his thinking for him.

The term RINO cuts both ways and Rubio is nothing more than a different type of RINO. We don’t deserve this kind of politician, we have enough at the state level in the Thrasher’s and his ilk.

    Charlie has my vote!!
I cant see myself voting for that Republican Puppet Rubio.

He is the worst type of Politician you can have in Washington. He is the type f Repub that emulates the BUSH/CHENEY extreme Rightwing TEA PARTY politician.

  7. M Says:

I will be voting for Christ regardless of his party affiliation. He is one of the very few politicians in the world who tries to do what’s best for the people as a whole as opposed to what only one party wants done. He is currently Governor of all of Florida, not Governor of “Republicans only” in Florida, and I believe he does a great job of serving all Floridians, not just the Republicans. This is why I will vote for him regardless of which party he’s affiliated with.

  8. Tom Says:

Prepare for Limbaugh, Beck, Hannity, and all the graduatesof Karl Roves, Ministry of Propaganda, to unleash their venom on Charlie Crist. Rubio will be bombarded with Republican money and praise. Rubio, who is all for backing Israel in a war with Iran, will play ball with this big tea party. Charlie stopped the Republican bill which would have taken money from the Florida educational system, already underfunded. Money the Bush brothers wanted for their educational software, and textbook companies. Thankyou Charlie, you have my vote! tr

  9. Tom Says:

The curse of American politics. Lobbyist, political donations, buying power in a “for sale democracy.” What happened to “for the people , by the people”? And we try to force American democracy on foreign countries, we see corruption in them, as with our own system. Politicians, sound bites, and money determine outcomes. Charlie Crists listening to the people of Florida bucks the republican agenda. I will vote for Charlie however he runs. The Bush boys and cronies were deprived of profits from there text book companies and educational software companies, by trying to short money to the Florida educatonal system. The buck stopped with Charlie Crist vetoe, thankyou Charlie. tr
