Poll: McCollum edges Sink 40-36; voters like drilling, dislike health care lawsuit
by George Bennett | April 19th, 2010
- McCollum (R): 40 %
- Sink (D): 36 %
- Drilling: 64%
Floridians disapprove of the new federal health care law by a 48-to-44 percent margin. But they say by a 54-to-40 margin that federal lawsuit by McCollum and other state attorneys general challenging the new law is a “bad idea.”
Florida voters give President Obama a 50-to-45 percent favorable rating — up from January, when the president was viewed favorably by 45 percent and unfavorably by 49 percent. Obama’s seeming openness to more drilling off the Florida coast gets high marks — 64 percent in favor, 28 percent opposed.
The April 8-13 poll of 1,250 voters has a 2.8 percent margin of error.

2.7 million Medicaid plus that 1.8 million future enrollee base puts a new dimension on freeloader power base!!
BARAMAcare extends Medicaid to ALL adults making < 133% of FPL…regardless of disability or children dependents over next 3 years!
Medicaid will equal today’s $68 BN State Budget by 2020!!
PLUS, all workers < FPL will get a “voluntary” Long Term Care plan for $5 a month = another GOVT subsidy of $3,000 a year for 64 million “poor folks” or $192 Billion … (see CLASS Act on pages 1925 – 1979).
Next, we grant ALL that to Florida’s 3 million Illegal Aliens amnestied next year. Already granted all that to 600,000 Haitian Illegal Aliens on TPS (permanently) because the country they fled had an earthquake? DAMN, sure hope that Chinese Earthquake doesn’t hit Bejing…

Typical liberal response….degrad the person. How’s about a real debate? Where are your facts?
April 19th, 2010 at 9:38 am
don’t drink, have you ever read the rants from the guy? EVERY problem in this country is the fault of the Democrats and the president. Right down to his hemorrhoids. Degrade him? Yeah, but only when provoked. Not gonna degrade you. It is however the mantra of the right. If you are not with them then you are a socialist, communist, unamerican, non christian, non patriotic. He says this constantly in his posts. Where is my proof? When I post a fact I make sure it is factual.I just get tired of people throwing stuff against the wall to see what sticks. That is what Fox News does. It is extremely harmful when you have people with limited IQ’s, like Obiwan, who cannot think for themselves.

This argument goes on and on, but in truth,,
for over two years Obama ran on a platform, promising health care reform, INCLUDING a public option, 53% of American voters elected him when they had a decidedly opposite choice.. at the same time, the American voter in its’ plurality dramtically reduced the Republican presence in both houses of congress, and freely elected a considerable majority of Democrats to fill those seats. The “Public” as a group, has spoken.. I know true freedom of choice and the right to vote your wishes, does not mean that everyone else agrees with you.. hence the “Vote”, to make a decision.
As for the “courts” not interferring in policy??.. where does that come from, when in fact,as one example only, certain folks want the court to outlaw abortion, There is no law “ordering” folks to have an abortion.. just one decision upholding a citizens “RIGHT” to make a choice..perhaps not “Your” choice, but a choice..
Then there is the movement to put prayer in schools by force of law??.. The constituion says “Freedom of religion” and also that the Government will not sponsor “A” religion.. There is such a thing as “Silent” prayer. Worship and faith, should not require that “everyone” must succumb to others’ wishes.. there are many and varied religions in the U S of A, which ones do we “permit” in school prayer?? or does each get a segment of the school day??..
Democracy and Freedom of Choice, and the right to an opinion, are precious.. Don’t blow them away by being single minded.. Not everyone will agree with you, it is a given.. Learn to live with that and life will be a bit eassier.. Always remeber, if two groups constantly agree in their opinions, one of them is redundant!!

The life-long politician (McCollum) once had a 20 pt lead over sink. The elction is in NOv……who knows what will occur between now and then.

Alex Pelosi Sink was a banking EXECUTIVE. She was treasurer of the state’s pension investments that lost MILLIONS!
The Pelosi acolyte will increase taxation, sign onto a restrictive Cap and Trade Bill (energy Tax) and will endorse EVERYTHING Obama wants to do.
So that’s a NO for me. Tired of the husband/wife duo who want to run FL. Pelosi/Sink’s husband, BIll McBride also ran for the governorship.
Can we get a better representation of which counties the poll was conducted in; how many democrats, independents and republicans, NPA participated and a reading of the questions posed. One can formulate the questions in such a manner as to direct the answer. As an example.
Question:
Are you in favor of fighting the Obama healthcare plan which will involve spending millions of dollars?
or
Are you willing to fight to overturn ObamaCare.
Polls are crap. See you at ballot box in November.

And SAM
freedom to have an abortion, if that’s what a woman choose is fine, just don’t use FEDERAL DOLLARS!
Prayers in school, prayers at Inauguration, prayers in Congress, prayers in the legislature. How about a Time of Silence for everyone to think about what they want to think about?
Voters will, again, Sam, have an opportunity to vote in November 2010 and 2012. I say they’ll be change.

Obiwan can voice his opinions. When you can’t fight his postings, you attack him.
If he is wrong, then present your argumentsand facts. NONE OF YOU DID!
It’s a typical democrat ploy to name call and attack. Damn evil demons.

Ok you wanted some proof. Increased competition would lower costs. Purchasing policies across state lines would lower policies. Lower drug costs would be a nice start. A paperless system to cut through all the crap that doctors and hospitals go through would be helpful. But the Republican party said a paperless system would put all of their personal information on the internet. Explain that one.
The administration has come up with $313 billion in Medicare and Medicaid savings, which, combined with $635 billion in a previously tagged payment, would come close to its estimated cost of a reform plan.
The administration would find the savings by reducing payments to health care providers for providing more efficient services.
The $313 billion and $635 billion would bring total health care savings to nearly $950 billion.
Rising health costs push total employment costs up and wages and benefits down. The result is lost profits and lost wages, in addition to pointless risk, insecurity and a flood of personal bankruptcies.

easy now Marg.. As i said, it will never end,, but you do know i trust, that the change in law to outlaw abortions, has nothing to do with who pays for them??.. as far as the health care changes being proposed, 4, that is FOUR seperate provisions in the bills disallow any federal dollars being spent on abortion.. Only the “private” plans, that Governemnt officials and their various employee unions have, allow and provide payment for an abortion.. The public plans do not..
as for Nov 2010 and Nov 2012, we shall see..there is always some erosion of the incumbent party in midterm, always… Remember how far behind the winners were in April of 2009, compared to the results of Nov 2009..

here is more proof for you marge. First of all, FOX and the right wing talking heads won’t tell you the part about Obama not using one dime of federal money for abortions. But, he signed it into law. You need to do your homework before you post. Paste this link. It is from Reuters dated 03/24/2010. Want more proof?

Here you go marge. Sink was involved years ago with the banking industry. She applauded the charges against the old company. So you worked for a company years ago, you leave, they commit crimes, and because you USED to work for them you are somehow responsible? Yeah, that makes sense.
read this link. FOX is most often incorrect. Do your homework before you post

Go McCollum! We don’t need another Commie Democrat in charge of anything! They’re wrecking enough as is.

Did anyone ask if the taxpayers of Florida wanted to spend their tax dollars on a frivilous lawsuit. What private law firms will be taking public money now???
