Florida House charts Charlie Crist’s wavering on teacher bill

by Michael C. Bender | April 16th, 2010

cristal-ball

The Florida House Republican office put its “crystal ball” into graphic form this afternoon releasing this fever chart of Gov. Charlie Crist’s support/opposition to the controversial teacher tenure bill he vetoed yesterday. (Here’s the chart and its citations.)

No doubt it paints an interesting picture and gives a glimpse of the Republican majority’s frustration.

But the chart we’d really like to see would show why GOP leaders allowed no amendments in the House. Would that one — a pie chart, perhaps? — show Republican support dwindling in the Senate, where the bill passed on a close 21-17 vote?

You mean the Dem amendment that required all legislators to teach 9 weeks BEFORE being able to vote on any education matter?? Yeah, it was “discussed” before voted down!!

Go ahead and list all those “amendments” offered. They are listed on line, with the resulting vote. Florida is sunshine transparent – takes three readings to move a bill!!

The Republican Party Leadership needs to contact Sen. Paula Dockery and Miami/Dade’s Sen. Villalobos and four House turncoats and asked them IF they intend to be Republicans in the future!!

PBP did not have any problem with Senator Reid disallowing the BARAMAcare Amendment that deleted payment for Viagra, Cialis and other ED drugs for prison inmates convicted of child molestation!! There were a dozen other that were quite obvious – THEY plan to fix them “some other time”.

SB6 was a well staffed product of months involving parents, teachers, educators, SD Superintendents, etc. GOV. Crist new full well the problems meant to be solved – he reneged on his promise to support the entire package only after he was sure he was toast in the Republican primary.

He will now file as a Democrat to beat out that worthless son of another worthless Black Nationalist boondoggle MeeK – from Miami/Dade.

Didn’t they secede from the state after their last bankruptcy??

    Can you say DUPLICITOUS!!

Man, the Repubs have to give up these vendettas against unions. It is killing them in elections. Republicans are for outsourcing and more outsourcing, and holding teachers responsibile for what kids dont get at home is ridiculous.

I have given up on the RPOF, and will be voting these corrupt criminals out.

REMEMBER HIM AT ELECTION TIME. DO NOT FORGET…HE LISTENED-A UNIQUE QUALITY IN LIGHT OF TODAY’S POLITICIANS. HE SPOKE FOR THOSE WHO COULD NOT-THE CHILDREN OF FLORIDA-AND VETOED SB6 IN THE BEST INTEREST OF FLORIDA’S CHILDREN ALTHOUGH IT WAS NOT THE REPUBLICAN PARTY AGENDA. A MAN WITH INTEGERITY AND VISION. HE NEEDS TO BE IN WASHINGTON TO SPEAK FOR THE PEOPLE.
