Final Broward numbers: Deutch 53.8 percent; bigger lead in Palm Beach County

by George Bennett | April 13th, 2010

With all 93 precincts reporting in Broward County, which makes up about 30 percent of congressional District 19, Democrat Ted Deutch got 53.8 percent to 42.8 percent for Republican Ed Lynch and 3.4 percent for no-party candidate Jim McCormick.

About one-third of Palm Beach County precincts have reported and Deutch has about 65 percent of the vote there.

The Associated Press has declared Deutch the winner and Deutch just gave a victory speech to hundreds of cheering supporters in Boca Raton.

  1. For the good of the movement Says:

Mr. Lynch, please stand down. Do not run again in November. Put your house in order.

  2. Gett off it Says:

    He was the best bet.

  3. Jon Says:

    I agree re: Lynch.

You ran twice, you lost twice. Step aside.

A shame McCormick didn’t do better but considering the funds a couple of thousand votes show there are people fed up with partisanship.

I don’t know if he will run again but I commend him for being a true American and at least trying to fight the machine. Well done Jim.

Congrats to Ted, I can only hope he will consider carefully his vote and not just vote the way Pelosi wants him to.

  4. Don't Drink the Cool Aid Says:

Deutch is another nail in the coffin of freedom. He supports Obamacare and Cap and Trade. Let me know how you feel after your insurance premiums rise (see LA Times article), electricity bill doubles and gas goes up another $1.50 overnite…foolish lemmings…
