RNC launches 5-city cable TV ad campaign in West Palm Beach

by George Bennett | March 8th, 2010

WEST PALM BEACH — Republican National Committee Chairman Michael Steele was in town this morning to launch a 60-second ad aimed at attracting GOP donors. The spot accuses President Obama and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi of “experimenting with America” and favoring “massive government expansion, government takeovers, redistribution of wealth and staggering debt to countries like China and the Middle East.”

The GOP is spending less than $1 million nationally on the campaign. The ads will run on cable rather than pricier broadcast TV stations. In addition to the West Palm Beach market, the ads will run in Greensboro, N.C., Cincinnati, Oklahoma City and Tulsa, Okla., a GOP spokesman said.

Steele appeared briefly at the West Palm Beach Marriott before about 30 GOP activists, including Palm Beach County Republican Chairman Sid Dinerstein, Broward GOP Chairman Chip LaMarca and Republican congressional hopefuls Ed Lynch and Allen West.

    Attracting or attacking donors…
    Republicans are suckers.

  2. Heavy Handed Collecting Says:

So, Michael Steele comes down and tries to smooth over the terror tatics powerpoint DVD left by some should have been aborted piece of artwork representing the Republican party and teaching them how to heavy hand the only donors they have left. What a bunch of nimcapoops. The coals are still warm from the RPOF monies that have been used for parties and trips for Sansom, Crist, Greer, McCollum and who only knows who else. Major donors who made their money honestly know how they made it and they are not going to throw it down the toilet for all this partying. Now they know the very party they want to support is out teaching its money recruiters how to program them with bull-shit! We couldn’t ask the democrats to to do more damage to the Republican party than these own idiots have and continue to do to our party. And, yes hell I would leave the RPOF except for the fact the only decent candidates who can possibly win a general election must first be elected in the Republican primary. So I guess I an now an independant registered only as a Repub for the sake of the ability to vote. I will now give my money directly to the candidates I believe deserve my money and support and the RPOF partiers can go to heqq.

  3. Jim Says:

    Sid Dinerstein..a joke on republicans.

    Poor leadership, can’t generate candidates.

Local resident who seek to run for office as a fiscal conservative contact a group called, AMERICAN MAJORITY.

This group hopes to grow Local representatives. It’s just for local levels:

    school board, commissioners, councilpeople, mayors.

They will help through the process.

How about some of these young go-getters who will be burdened their entire lives and their children’s lives with debt.

Seek assistance, cause the local heads don’t do anything and can’t generate candidates.

Tea party people..check them out. Endorsed by Red State.

  4. LOL! Says:

This is the hallmark of a party empty of ideas or any principled leadership. A party that is so infiltrated by monied special interests and addicted to their funding that it has to resort to this kind of empty stunt to get donors to open up wallets. Of course, this is true of the Democrats as well, but the stunts are slightly different. So much for “democracy”.

  5. James Says:

Good to hear the republicans so eager to jump ship. Maybe the’ll realize to late and lose even more base voters. Good idea Jim, start a new party and see where that gets you. Take as many young republicans with you and errode the future base too.
