Palm Beach County state lawmaker to join Haiti president at White House
by Michael C. Bender | March 9th, 2010From the Florida House Democratic office this afternoon:
State Representatives Ronald Brisé (D-North Miami) and Mack Bernard (D-West Palm Beach) are pleased to announce that they will join Haiti’s President René Préval during his visit to The White House on Wednesday, March 10, 2010. Both legislators are Haitian-Americans who have traveled to Haiti since the earthquake. They have worked extensively with colleagues to facilitate Florida’s relief efforts in earthquake-torn Haiti.
President Préval is scheduled to meet with President Obama to discuss reconstruction plans for Haiti. President Préval will also meet with Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, Attorney General Eric Holder, and representatives from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).
“We look forward to welcoming President Préval in a collegial environment that will lead to constructive dialogue,” said Representative Brisé.
“There are many challenges ahead for Haiti’s recovery,” said Representative Bernard. “I am pleased that President Obama and senior officials in his administration recognize the critical needs facing Haiti. We appreciate the opportunity to participate in this important conversation at The White House.”

Oh, yes Mr Bernard who sought to have a Haiti Czar….now wonder who he thought would be the czar.
Who’s paying for this trip, let me guess…the taxpayers!

Rick,Florida is the state most likely to be affected by a rush of immigrants if the problems in Haiti are left unaddressed. Conversely, Florida is a state that could benefit the most economically in the rebuilding of Haiti. For those reasons, and more, it is outstanding we have two member of our Legislature at the White House during the discussions with Haiti’s president. Your comment about Rep. Bernard wanting to be a Czar is a non-starter.

Rick …. I agree, who is paying for this trip? And Lysol, while Florida has a vested interest in the outcome of the situation in Haiti, both of these clowns are just using the unfortunate disaster to get face time, both in the press and with the president. I doubt either State Rep. would have gotten an invitation to the White House if they hadn’t been hanging on the coattails of Haiti’s President René Préval.

There Bernard Mack go again, looking out for numero uno instead of the people who put him in office. There are people here in the U.S, who need help as much as the Haitians, please dont get me wrong , my sympthy goes out to the Haitians, but we have not heard anything from Bernard Mack since he was elected to serve District 84. He’s not speaking to Addie Greene,, and the rest of the cronies who help put him there, but he want everyone to know he is at the White House kissing boots.
