Crist camp: Rubio backed by U.S. Sugar competitor
by Michael C. Bender | March 8th, 2010
Republican Gov. Charlie Crist’s Senate campaign responded to a jab from primary rival Marco Rubio, who called the Everglades land buy a “bailout” for U.S. Sugar: From Crist spokeswoman Amanda Henneberg:
“Marco Rubio is being supported in this campaign and in previous campaigns by Florida Crystals sugar company, who is the number one opponent to this Everglades restoration purchase. What else would you expect from a lobbyist who is bought and paid for by special interests?”
Rubio has received more thank $14,000 from the Fanjuls family, which owns Florida Crystals, and Gaston Gantens, the company’s chief lobbyist. The company and its subsidiaries gave anotehr $4,500 to Rubio during his nine years in the state House.

I suppose the NY Times which covered the US Sugar deal today and pointed out “United States Sugar dictated many of the terms of the deal as state officials repeatedly made decisions against the immediate needs of the Everglades and the interests of taxpayers, an examination of thousands of state e-mail messages and records and more than 60 interviews showed” are also bought and paid for by special interests.
Looks like the Governor is getting desparate!

Its one thing to be a politician! Its quite another thing to be corrupt and oweing to every special interest in the state. QUESTION: Who is the one corrupt politician in Florida that has no doubt hands down the most corrupt friends and acquaintances under investigation and on the way to jail? ANSWER: CHARLIE CRIST!

So what?
Crist is not honest. That is a vulnerability and democrats would use that has a wedge.
Honesty would have paid off Charlie, stop hiding!
And he’s not a true fiscal conservative.

@Joe:
“Is that the same Gaston Gantens involved in a Ponzi Defrauding elderly Cuban Investors the Miami Herald Reported.”
The lobbyist “Gaston I. Cantens” is the son of the ponzi schemer “Gaston E. Cantens”.
