Republican money men line up behind John Thrasher as potential party chairman
by Michael C. Bender | January 7th, 2010Ten of the 12 Republican fundraisers who helped push out Republican Party of Florida Chairman Jim Greer are now lining up behind state Sen. John Thrasher of Jacksonville.
The joint statement includes Boca Raton fundraisers Mark Guzzetta and Ned Siegel. Missing from the group this time are Seth Bernstein of Orlando and Earl Durden of Panama City.

Tallahassee, Fla. – Key Republican finance leaders from all across the state today issued a joint statement of support for Senator John Thrasher to lead the Republican Party of Florida. The below joint statement is attributable to Mr. Richard Beard, Mr. William Becker, Ambassador Charles E. Cobb, Mr. J.C. Demetree, Mr. Ed Easton, Mr. Mark Guzetta, Mr. Charles Hilton, Ambassador Al Hoffman, Ambassador Mel Sembler and Ambassador Ned Siegel.
“John Thrasher is a proven leader we all know and trust. We need his leadership at the Republican Party during this critical juncture. He has our full support in his campaign for Chairman of the Party and we hope the members of the Republican Executive Committee will favorably consider him as well.”
