Mass. Dem Senate candidate Coakley figured in Palm Beach kidnap case
by George Bennett | January 16th, 2010
Bill Clinton and other big-name Dems have flooded Massachusetts to try to rescue Martha Coakley's Senate campaign.
Coakley is the Democratic nominee in Tuesday’s surprisingly tight Bay State special election to replace late liberal icon Ted Kennedy.
Back in 1999, Coakley was district attorney for Middlesex County near Boston. She approved a plea deal that allowed Palm Beach socialite Stephen Fagan to avoid prison after kidnapping his daughters in a 1979 custody fight and hiding them from their mother until 1998.
Fagan, who reinvented himself in Palm Beach as Dr. William Martin, said he took the girls from Massachusetts to Florida to protect them from an alcoholic mother who was endangering their lives — a claim the mother disputed. The girls were raised believing their mother had been killed in a car crash.
Fagan pleaded guilty in a Massachusetts court in 1999 and paid a $100,000 fine, served five years probation and performed 2,000 hours community service at the VA Medical Center in Riviera Beach.

C’mon Massachusetts, show the country that you have the mental capacity and fortitude to throw this corrupt-acrat overboard. You have been politically brain-dead for years, blindly pulling the lever for whomever has a “D” next to their name (except for Governor…go figure…). Stand up and dump this filfthy “public servant” once and for all. You owe it to the country after foisting Kennedy on us for years on end…

The Bay State can have the “shot heard around the world again” by electing Scott Brown as our Senator. We can leave a message to the entire Nation that we are not going to take this anymore–the Dems and their corrupted state of mind. Coaxley even thinks that Curt Schilling is a Yankees fan. She is so out of tune with the state. She is an elitist. Scott Brown will lead the way for our Nation
January 16th, 2010 at 3:02 pm
Why? Why rescue her? Let her fall just like the rest of the “so-called” elitist. Boot her out, she’s been a pain in everyon’e side for years..These types of people don’t know when to get out. They wanna hang in there to the very last. Time to get rid of all these older politicians and get some NEW and YOUNG blood in congress and government with fresh eyes and ideas.
January 16th, 2010 at 3:04 pm
Make that:
The SCOTT heard ’round the world!
January 16th, 2010 at 4:00 pm
Sorry, I would rather have her in office than a Repugnant any day.
January 16th, 2010 at 4:34 pm
Dinah,
would you care to elaborate on your response or should it just be assumed that for you the Party is more important than both Country and competence?
January 16th, 2010 at 8:11 pm
See what happens when both parties are out of touch with reality. Obama and Clinton are campaigning for her in order to pass a bill that is not healthcare reform.
Pathetic….you think?

I am 75 yoa and have voted democrat my entire life and feel somewhat responsible for the country’s slippery slope to ruin. I hope and pray that the good folks in Massachusetts will vote for Mr. Brown. One would think I learned a lesson when I pulled the lever for Carter but I regressed. My apologies to those in this once wonderful country that my votes have hurt.
January 16th, 2010 at 10:25 pm
Come on, Bay State! You can send Obama back to D.C. with a big headache, just like he has given us, every day, for a year. Take away his sure path to Marxist health care and send him into his latest temper tantrum.

hen236:
I will vote 10 times for Coakley if I have to, we will NOT have a Repugnant in Ted Kennedy’s seat! It isn’t right. The people voted for Ted Kennedy to have a 6 year term, and that means he, and his successor, have the right to that time.
If the people want a Repugnant 6 years later, that’s their business, but the electorate does NOT have a right to override Kennedy’s wishes before then.
January 16th, 2010 at 10:52 pm
Weather GOP or DEM, Massachusetts will always vote for a liberal. Who do you think gave us RomneyCare or ObamaCare, same thing.

Wow Dinah seems to be very bigoted,no wonder she is a Cockley fan! Disgusting!! Doesn’t Dinah know that Cockley helped rape a little child or wanted to by trying to let the Rapist out to rape again!!! Cockley lax on crime,What if it was your child Dinah?

Dinah Says
“…but the electorate does NOT have a right to override Kennedy’s wishes before then…”
With all due respect ma’am, the electorate does have that right.
I’m not sure how you came about such a conclusion.
January 17th, 2010 at 3:31 am
Dinah,
I am guessing that you are putting us on. Very funny.
If not, please understand this: 1) Kennedy does not have a seat – the state of Mass has two, which are up for grabs every 6 yrs and determined by the people of Mass; 2) if an elected official dies in office the State (by law) holds a special election to see out the remainder of the deceased’s term; 3) referring to the Republican candidate as a Rethuglican is a silly insult which reflects poorly on you and; 4) despite your contention that you will vote “10 times for Coakley” in MY America it is one person, one vote.
Please tell me that this is a put on.

THANK YOU, Betty Mack! I, and all citizens who cherish this (hopefully, not once) great country, appreciate your thoughts and mea culpa. Don’t worry about the past…. just cast that vote for Mr. Brown. AND, hopefully, influence any friends, family, co-workers, neighbors, etc., to see your perspective and to also do the right thing! THANKS again!
January 17th, 2010 at 4:23 am
The Dems seem to know how to vote ten times!
January 17th, 2010 at 9:23 am
They voted for Kennedy and Dinah she is no Kennedy. Don’t kid yourself.

As a one party State, we have been the laughing stock of the Nation for years;
time for checks and balances! Vote Brown
God rest his soul, but what was so wonderful about Ted Kennedy? Think of how many people he hurt in his lifetime.
Sure he finally made a good marriage, but only because he was too old to filander.
January 17th, 2010 at 6:46 pm
Obama and Clinton showed up in Boston for Coakley……they have to be very nervous……Obama did’nt help Virginia and New Jersey in the Gubernatorial races, he won’t help here either. People are angry and they want to throw
all the bums out.
January 17th, 2010 at 7:09 pm
I believe the people of Massachusetts and all over America are ready to make a change and vote out, one by one all the corrupt democrats. Let’s take OUR country back! Obama is over!
January 18th, 2010 at 7:07 am
Dinah is either having some laughs or is a goofy democrat. If it’s the latter, I would offer this observation.
If she and other boneheads believe that voters should not have the ability to decide who fills a vacated elected office, then these people should seek federal and state constitutional amendments that allow elected officials to pre-designate their replacements should they die, get thrown in prison, etc..
January 18th, 2010 at 12:18 pm
“4) despite your contention that you will vote “10 times for Coakley” in MY America it is one person, one vote.”
Hmmm! “Vote 10 times for Coakley” – she must be one of those folks from ACORN – a group that stuffs and fully backs Coakley for Senator.
