Marco Rubio’s political capital

by Michael C. Bender | January 18th, 2010

Once upon a time (three months ago), Republican Marco Rubio was considered a long-shot contender for the U.S. Senate race. Now, he’s apparently got some political capital to spend.

Rubio’s camp tells us that the former state House speaker has used e-mails and Facebook pleas to raise $42,000 for upstart Massachusetts Republican Scott Brown in the past five days. That’s about 12 percent of what Rubio collected for his own campaign in his first three months as a formal candidate.

Meanwhile, Gov. Charlie Crist is using his own capital to raise money for victims of the Haiti earthquake.

By the way, no official word yet about the much-anticipated fourth-quarter fundraising numbers from Rubio or Crist for their own Senate primary campaigns. Reports are due Jan. 31.

Let it be Rubio, Crist is too much a democrat.

Worried about the governor’s seat. If Alexandra gets in she will sign every damn thing the democrats send her way.

If you have a local board seat needing filling…guess who Alexandra will place in the seat…yep…a TAXING and Spending democrat.

Politics IS local. Get out and vote.

Don’t vote for ANOTHER WEXLER:Ted Deutch

Vote for someone NEW. Get some diversity in these seats. It’s the same old, same old!

The very fact that Rubio has “political” capital should be reason enough for him to receive zero votes. It would be much better if he had ethical and moral capital that could be believed.

  4. George Says:

rubio is the only politician on the side of the people who wants to loer property taxes.

  5. V Says:

Rubio is a typical Miami/Dade republicon. He’s not on the side of regular people.

I have done research on Rubio’s past Bills and found several troubling Bill attempts that died in committee. Please note them all and especially the last one (latest date) where he made an attempt to keep “working papers” (such as dead Bills) from seeing the light of day to the public. We pay these politicians and they work for us and we are the Boss not them. In a nut shell his Bills would have allowed illegal aliens an education on the taxpayers dime! A Bill would have allowed a “self pay” (no insurance) for medical care without the hospital collecting a balance on the hospital Bill. Again this would serve illegal Aliens by protecting them from detection. This is not about Party but what is right and wrong.
