Rubio to address Florida TaxWatch luncheon in Palm Beach on Wednesday
by Michael C. Bender | December 1st, 2009UPDATE: Crist’s spokeswoman says the governor won’t attend because he’s getting ready for a special session scheduled to start Thursday. She said the campaign notified TaxWatch of that decision last month.
Republican U.S. Senate candidate Marco Rubio will address the lunch crowd at Florida TaxWatch’s annual meeting at The Breakers on Wednesday.
Gov. Charlie Crist, who is also seeking the GOP nomination for U.S. Senate, has not responded to an invitation, a TaxWatch spokesman said. Crist’s campaign spokeswoman has not responded to a question about Crist’s schedule.
The event is not open to the public.

Florida and the senate need a fiscal conservative.
Actually, the state needs a fiscal conservative. There will be excessive taxing if a governor is elected that believes taxing Floridians and businesses is the answer to problems.

Marco Rubio and the Taxation Reform Commission both had it right a couple years ago when they said increase sales tax 1% and lower property taxes. Instead local taxing authorities have killed the goose that laid the golden egg. Higher property taxes just make property values go down and the tax base even worse.

It’s great there’s someone watching out for us lowly taxpayers. Also glad to see they’re doing such a good job they have their gala 2 day event at the Breakers. Those pathetic liberal groups have to go their local library.
