Former Jeb Bush, Mitt Romney staffer joins McCollum’s gubernatorial campaign
by Michael C. Bender | December 9th, 2009The Bill McCollum for Governor campaign announced today that Kristy Campbell has been hired as communications director.
Campbell, 28, most recently worked for former Gov. Jeb Bush’s two non-profit public policy organizations: the Foundation for Excellence in Education and the Foundation for Florida’s Future. She also worked as chief spokeswoman for Bush during his final years in office after communications work for the Florida Community Affairs Department and the state Emergency Management Division.
Campbell also worked as communications director for former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney’s presidential campaign in Florida in 2008.
Campbell will help craft McCollum’s message along with campaign manager Matt Williams and senior advisor Shannon Gravitte.
