LeMieux calls Dem health bill “Medicaid for the masses”
by George Bennett | November 23rd, 2009
U.S. Sen. George LeMieux, who’s in Palm Beach County today, told a business group this morning that a Democratic health care overhaul bill will probably pass and cause a deterioration in the overall quality of health care.
“I think it’s going to be bad for America. What I fear is down the road all we’re going to have is Medicaid for the masses…If this goes down the road 5 or 10 years from now, everybody’s going to have really poor health care. You may have it, but it’s not going to be any good. You’re going to wait — 100 people in the waiting room,” LeMieux told trustees of the Chamber of Commerce of the Palm Beaches.

I wish he would explain why everyone having access to health care will mean 100 people in a waiting room. Does that mean he is saying all these sick people are just staying home and not getting help? Where is this 100 coming from. I can see where emergency rooms will be less crowded, as people will be able to go to a family doctor instead, and leave emergency rooms for true emergencies. More people will have wellness care which may only be 1 or 2 visits a year, they will now have access to get treated for high blood pressure and high chlorestoral, which should lower the heart attack rate and should certainly lower the overall costs of uninsured people showing up at emergency rooms with heart attacks and being admitted to the hospital for expensive care. If someone has a minor injury instead of going to an expensive emergency room and not paying their bill which drives up everyone elses costs as the hospital charges more to insured people to make it up, they could go to one of these 24/7 med clinics that are all over the place. These places have never been as busy as a regular doctor office, when I have used these places there are usually less than 3 people in waiting room, their business will pick up slack of what used to be emergency room visits, overall, more people will get seen by a doctor who can evaluate health and prevent minor problems to get worse. More people will get screened and treated for diabetes in early stages before more expensive treatments and meds are needed, when just diet and exersize may fix.

this just doesnt make sense, seems like they dont want people to have healthcare.

So George doesn’t want the rest of Americans to have access to the same goverment healthcare plan that he now has for himself and his family. How quaint.
Ever wonder how quickly it takes for a politician to lose his ability for indivdual thought? I think we just found out the answer – he’s just reading from the GOP script.

Something different. A bunch of republican rhetoric with absolutely no factual evidence to back it up.

Another PUBLICAN that needs to be voted out because he can’t think on his own — he’s brainwashed with the other PUBLICAN talking points and don’t give a rats behind about the health of American citizens. He needs to seriously read the CBO’s report that in the long run the plan will save $127 billion…
If he persists, then he should give up his health care plan we all pay for and join our ranks.
What an idiot he is!!! My GOSH…just UNBELIEVABLE!!!!!!!!! Where is his plan???????

He’s exactly right. THats exactly what this plan will do. After its done bankrupting our country (read the fine print on tax collections being 4 years ahead of the program’s spending), it will start sending droves of people into these “exchanges” or “public option” which will turn into nothing but “slug healthcare” for the masses. The government cant even deliver the mail without going bankrupt. These morons have no business running healthcare.
ps f you are a woman under 40, you’d better pay attention. The bill empowers the same committee that just said no more mamograms until you are 50.
