Most "conservatives" we have seen over the last 30 years are really charlatans who use that label so that well-meaning folk are more apt to drop their fraud guard. Conservative is not a political ideology--it is a life philosophy that places intellect over reactionism and prudence over radicalism. Right now, I don't know if there are any conservatives in the Republican Party, since most Republican political elected officials and political figures have kowtowed to the false "base" which has been created by the histrionics of a few very, very self interested talking heads. Sure,there are people who label themselves as conservatives, but a pig who calls himself a rose still stinks, youknowwhatImean? I think the Republican Party does itself a disservice with such secretive and private behavior. They certainly are in no legal or moral position to demand honesty and openness from the others they share governance with if that is the way they conduct their meetings.
