Future in politics for Tim Tebow?
by George Bennett | November 27th, 2009
Does Heisman Trophy winner, two-time national champion and John 3:16 advocate Tim Tebow have a future in politics?
“We’ve talked about it a little bit,” says Gov. Charlie Crist in this article by The Post’s Ben Volin on the eve of the Gator legend’s final home game.

If Tebow does ever enter Florida politics he will also be reading John 8:44 to the likes of Charlie Crist, Marco Rubio, Jeff Atwater, JD Alexander, John Thrasher and their gang of thieves. It would do the Republican Party Of Florida a ton of good to have a Tim Tebow Godly cleansing. Perhaps then we could have our democracy “of the people, for the people” returned to us “people” instead of for the self-serving scum we have now.

everyone i know who has met him says he’s not too smart. guess that would make him a good politician. plus he comes off as being queer as a three dollar bill. he’s perfect actually!

Let him join a Republican Club and make a contribution like any of the rest of us. We will judge him by that , not this celebrity status.

guy writes bible verses under his eyes and he is qualified for political office.
another religious nut job is just what florida and the country needs.

The kid scored 890 on the SAT!!! He would probably make a good high school football coach at best.

I’ve never seen so many jealous people reply to this story. I’ll bet none of the ones who have replied so far have done anything in their lives to come close to what Tebow has accomplished. It’s obvious these people have no more to share than their own failures in life. When someone, such as Tim Tebow, comes along they look back on their own lives of failures and want to blame everyone else for those failures. They also begin to pick away at Tim’s religious views because they don’t have any values in life of their own. Bitter bitter bitter. Remember, liberals have always said “we all just want to get along”. What hypocrites they (liberals) are.

Tim Tebow is a dumb religious phony; a perfect “Sarah Palin” wannabe!

Thanks Bubs and Sammy. You’ve just both made my points for me. It’s like I reached out there for you guys to make your comments and you stumbled right into it. Thanks.

You people are hating for no good reason.
Tim is the real deal.
And, no, you don’t have to be a rocket scientist to get elected to high office, our current crop of elected officials prove that to be true.
Btw, Tim did much better than 890 on his SAT. I don’t care what your name is or how good an athlete you are, 890 is NOT getting you into UF.
Now, with F$U on the other hand, it’s a different story…
Turk, are you jealous, or what? You have a terrible case of homo envy///
Sammy, come om, GASUCAWA? That’s about as old as the petrified $h!t between your teeth.
Hate all you want, F$U will NEVER have a guy, like Tim Tebow, who’s the complete package.

Despicable for so many ignorant dimbulbs to besmirch such a fine young man. Tim Tebow represents values - faith, respect, courtesy, leadership, honesty, integrity and sincerity, yet all some of you can manage is to denigrate him for his outstanding qualities.
It must suck to be you!

Timmy would make a great politician. He is very intelligent and all of the people who say otherwise simply are just people that hate on him because he is the best college football player ever. He is the kind of person Florida needs running things. Tim is honest, caring, and smart. I would be proud to have him on the republican side.

i couldnt agree more with jwiley. all you people who sit at home and wait for someone, of such great success at an such early age, make me sick. what the hell is GASUCAWA? that’s not even an acronym. good thing your not going into high politcal office. as far as im concerned, he turned down the NFL to finish school and play one more year at UF. im no gator fan, nor miami, or a seminole, but when someone has his status and has accomplished to make it to the National Championship twice, well that person has my respect. all you people who critique this, are like paris hilton, a waste of time. go follow perez hilton on twitter and find out why adam lambert is gay and stop ruining our economy.

Sarah Palin? What brought her into this? Why do you fear her so much? She actually did great things with Alaska. You listened to the left wing media attack her because they have an adjenda and you probably do not know anything factual about her except snips taken from a biased interview. The woman had over an 80% approval in her state- that is almost unheard of. She is a woman of her convictions. I am not obsessed with her as some of the liberals are (one of the people who replied here). But, I do think a woman who believes a her child has a right to live is something to be admired. There is something really strange going on with some people. Wow. Sara Palin popping out of every afraid person with no context to the conversation- what is going on?
November 28th, 2009 at 12:50 pm
Jennifer - Liberals are afraid of her because she says what’s on her mind. But, given what comes out of her mouth, there isn’t much on her mind. Frankly, she’s an overbearing moron with a moral certainty that leaves little room for the opinions of others. In other words, “you betcha’.” That said, she strikes a chord in a segment of America that feels they’re being ignored by those in office.

Fact: TIM TEBOW SCORED 890 ON THE SAT. Google “Tim Tebow SAT”. I would have posted links but there are too many. You will also find the UF ranks last in football player high school gpa averages. BTW, you are correct, if your SAT is 890 save your application fees if you are going to apply at UF or UM. FSU I’m not sure, I’ve heard that it is not much academically.

Can’t be any worse than the politicians we have now, especially this community organizer president we have.

What a game!! And what a great effort by Tim Tebow!! As a Floridian, I sure am proud of him - and proud of the whole team. (Shouldn’t we all be???) BTW, I didn’t see any Gators sucking canal water, Sammy.

What you idiots touting Tebow’s score of 890 on the SAT test as proof that he’s a dummy, read the story behind the stat. He took the test in his Freshman year of high school when he got that score, and that is the minimum requirement from many schools for their student athletes, so he didn’t bother taking it again.
Listen, it makes me crazier than most, being an FSU grad myself, but you can’t not respect the guy for who he is, and what he’s been able to accomplish in his young life. Politics could use an injection of some of Tebow’s integrity and heart.
November 28th, 2009 at 9:49 pm
Tebow 37 - FSU a lot less. So, can we now get back to the problem we have with current Republican State leadership. FSU’s current football ineptness is eerily similar to what we’re getting from that other great Tallahassee institution, our State Government.

Yep, You’re an FSU graduate alright. The genuine article. Teach English?

Joe Plumber…You are dumb. GW Bush did not destroy the Economy or the country he had a lot of things thrown his way his 8 years in office and faced them the best way possible. If you would like to know who destroyed the economy look to your man who is in office now because that is the culprit.

I scored an 890/1600 on my SAT in 2000 (my Junior year in High School). I was a “jock”, too. I believe I graduated High School with a 1.9 GPA and this was after carrying a 4.0 GPA for my entire Senior year in HS. I haven’t checked yet but I am willing to bet I am in my HS year book as the “least likely to succeed in life”. I’ll laugh if I am. Haha! Too late…laughed anyway.
I digress. Personally, I didn’t care about the test nor do I care about tests in general to this day. All I cared about on that day was getting it over with to be home in time for my next baseball/football/hockey/basketball/lacrosse/soccer game because that was what I loved to do; play sports (and I still do to this day).
I carried a 3.8 GPA for my two years of college ultimately leading up to getting my Associates in Computer Science all while playing sports, working, and living life to the fullest. For the next 4 years I put the books down to “get my foot in the door” and start my career as a Software Engineer.
After all of this, at the age of 26 in 2009, I decided it was time to get my Bachelor’s degree. A year later I was admitted to MIT as a transfer student. Best of all, I was stress free throughout the entire process because I was always in control of my life. I do not believe that a test should be the sole factor in determining ones level of knowledge, education, and competence. But I am rebellious by nature and maybe I am one of the lucky ones to get away with this type of behavior and thought process. I hope I am not alone, though, because it feels nice to be in control of my destiny all of the time.
My point is, I consider myself to be well educated and extremely bright and choose to apply myself when I want to. At the end of the day, however, test scores are just numbers and nothing more. Take the test three more times and I guarantee you the scores will be different for each.
My $0.02 worth

“Btw, Tim did much better than 890 on his SAT. I don’t care what your name is or how good an athlete you are, 890 is NOT getting you into UF.”
Maybe as an non-athletic, but when it comes to football most schools recruit down to the NCAA mininum limits. Joe McKnight couldn’t have even gotten into LSU using only his academic merit…and he went to USC.
So stating how “great” a school is doesn’t really transfer prestige to a student-athlete.
