Dueling Rothstein fotos - who’s got the bigger grin?

by Dara Kam | November 23rd, 2009

Attorney General Bill McCollum and Chief Financial Officer Alex Sink’s campaigns are one-upping each other with photos of the gubernatorial candidates grinning alongside accused mega-swindler Scott Rothstein.

First, Sink’s campaign released this pic of GOP McCollum mccollum-rothstein-pic and the disgraced South Florida lawyer.

Sink’s campaign staffers must have missed this photo of the Democratic favorite that McCollum’s campaign folks distributed to the press this morning.

But neither of the governor hopefuls’ photos is as chummy as this of current Gov. Charlie Crist, Rothstein and his wife Kim at their wedding last year.

  1. JV Says:

just goes to show, its not what or who you know, its always “SHOW ME THE MONEY” you can donate to my campaign, and we’ll do great together until 1 of us gets caught

  2. npgator Says:

To suggest that any of the recipients of his political donations had even an inkling that he was working a ponzi scheme is crazy!

  3. Fanny Says:

I agree totally with the LAST post. These Elected officials have NOTHING to with ROTHSTEIN’S “PONZI” schemes. Cut Gov. Crist some slack here….

Judge Diana Lewis accepted $500.00 from Rothstein - Does that make Dear Diana CORRUPT? No, but the 4th DCA - scathing opinion on her and her “DAD” sure raise some ETHICAL questions…

The relationship between ROTHSTEIN and MARK LEVINSON and TONY BOVA is quite interesting!!!!

  4. Rectum Cranial Inversion Says:

Post #1 has brains. Post #2 & #3 are paid bloggers to dispute the truth. Persons with brains do not suffer for the two most dreaded diseases that surface from political corruption. Rectum Cranial Inversion means you have your head so far up your butt you can’t see daylight, Thus you can not see corruption or chose to ignore same and the results there of. As for bloggers #2 and #3 they suffer from the disease commonly known as optical rectumitis. Whereby their tongue gets tangled on their eye tooth resulting in a shitty outlook on life. Anyone who chooses to disavow this corruption connection with Rothstein and others connected to the three stooges is part of the problem and not a part of the solution/

  5. David F. Petrano Esq. Says:

Rothstein could not have peddled so much influence w/o his position on Florida Bar’s Grievance Committee. Rothstein’s participation in TFB”s grievance process provided him the ideal pedigree needed to convince almost everyone he was beyond reproach, while intimidating/discouraging nearly anyone who would dare question his integrity. Use Rothstein as a basis to place attorney regulation in the hands of the Dept. of Professional Regulation and out of the hands of The Florida Bar.

  6. EquiisSavant Says:

Oh, npgator, how NAIVE you are !!!

Everytime I am injured as an adult with Autism — example by Florida Board of Bar Examiners, by The Florida Bar, and I make a public records request for their bond they are supposed to have, they violate Florida Sunshine Laws and do their government Biz-A-Ness in the dark behind closed doors. Why is that — because Alex Sink let Rothstein deal in unregulated securities ?

Until someone makes The Florida Bar release public records of whether Paul Hill, Florida Bar General Counsel, as well as names of all the other Florida Bar members, who approved of Rothstein being put on Florida Bar grievance committees where he was free to bully all the other lawyers into shriveling, quaking jello, then the REAL culprit responsible for allowing the Rothstein scam to happen is not likely to be found.

  7. Harry Houdini Says:

SINK IS AWFUL..I SAY IT AGAIN AND AGAIN..READ #6 COMMENTS ABOUT HER……….

  8. Marco Says:

Rothstein was a FORMER GOP money man. After McCains defeat Rothstein met President Obama and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and gave money to Harry Reid, endorsed and hosted and fundraiser for Fla CFO and DEM Gubernatorial candidate Alex Sink while giving the Fla Dem Party $200,000.

Rothstein is a DEMOCRAT scum-bag now.

  9. THE WIRE Says:

Robin and Mark Levinson never report the cash they are part of the scam the story keeps getting deeper and deeper Scott and Kim Rothstein are sleeping in the same bed,a bunch of Dishonest Corrupt Swindler’s!

  10. DFPetrano--FRIVOLOUS Says:

David, why are you calling for an end to lawyer regulation?

Why do you file so many frivolous lawsuits?

    Same answer? Miss me?
